The heater system for 1994 Chevy c1500 4.3L engine: how is it hooked up?The heater system for 1994 Chevy c1500 4.3L engine: how does the reverse water pump work?

This is a general idea of how your system works, your heater core is basically a secondary system, your system needs aprox 14lbs of pressure to operate properly, if there is a blockage, your radiator cap is faulty or you are low on coolant you will not get any flow to your heater core thus will not get any heat and could damage your engine, you can get your system tested, and usually if you have a bad water pump you will leak coolant through a small hole in the bottom of the water pump. It is designed to do this so you know it is going bad before you get complete failure however it does not always happen. I hope this helps you

94 4.3 chevy using water but no water in oil

if its not leaking it externally try a hydrocarbon test. you can buy the tester at auto parts stores. most common external leak points are lower intake gaskets, coolant hose that goes into lower intake on passenger front side of engine behind alternator. the hydrocarbon test will see if exhaust gases are entering the cooling system via a blown head gasket which is also a common problem on the 4.3 litre

My 1994 chevy caprice is leaking water

will try to help. where is the leak coming from? can you tell?under the front of motor where the engine fan is? could be water pump. could be a busted hose, upper or bottom radiator hose.there are 2 hoses that run to your heater core at the firewall or dash panel, could be there. leaking from sides of engine? could be a freeze out plug rusted through or if it's gotten below freezing and you did'nt have anti-freeze, most likely a freeze plug, they are designed to save your engine block from busting when you don't have anti-freeze in freezing weather. if you can repost your problem with a location, front, sides, or inbetween the back of engine and transission, i can help you. hope this helps and thank you for choosing

I have a problem with a coolant leak on my 2000 Chevy Blazer. It's coming from the left side of the engine, about mid to lower engine. I can't see where the leak is coming from due to the leak bouncing off...

you could have a expansion plug on the left side of the engine block leaking antifreeze,if your blazer is a 4x4 remove the skid plate under the front bumper and you should be able to see where its leaking from,a water pump will be a steady drip while its running usually but a expansion plug will pour out very fast

Coolant leaking out the front left side of 350 engine on 1994 chevy p/u. I already changed water pump.

Check for leakage from the intake manifold gasket where it mates with the cylinder head. Very common problem.

Coolant leak under the motor

The leak is probably coming from your radiator's drain hole. Try looking under neath your car at the bottom of the radiator and see if the plug is in (driver side).
