It's the relay in the front fuse box area of the engine compartment. Toyota has a replacement for it. The dealer will charge you $200 to fix. The rerlay can be found for much less than $70. You can pull the old one and replace it in about 45 seconds with a set of pliers

It is an electronic sensor. I brought mine to the dealer when the ac light started blinking. Cost about 200 dollars

Why isnt the air conditioning working?

could be several reasons. could be a fuse, a bad belt, no Freon, or a loose wire on the compressor or a leaking Freon hose. IF you hear the compressor kick on when you turn on the ac, but have no cold air, don't continue to run it because the compressor uses Freon as a lubricant also. Take it to an ac shop.

The flashing light tells you there is a problem in the system.
A mechanic would check to see if the system is charged with freon then check the electrical circuit for the compressor.

Kia rio 2002 air conditioning problems, Hi, currently my air conditioning just doesn't start at all, it was working properly and suddenly witout a warning it' just stopped working. It does not work...

If the AC compressor is kicking in and out then you are probably low on freon. If the Compressor isn't kicking in at all then the problem could be a fuse or relay in the Power distribution box or the fuse in the interior of the car. If the fuse and relays are good then the problem could be a bad clutch on the compressor or a bad compressor itself. If the compressor is kicking in and out then get a freon refill can from Walmart or an Auto parts store and add freon to the system until the compressor kicks in continuously.

On my 2003 Chevy Silverado, the A/C compressor won't kick on. Just blows out warm/hot air.

The ac system may need freon added,if the system is low,or out of freon,it will not allow the ac compressor to come on.

Air conditiong blowing but not getting cold

you are probably low on freon. Pop your hood and see if the compressor keeps clikcing every 5-10 seconds. If it is then you are low on freon. The compressor is on the front of the engine and will have a pulley on it being spun by a belt. you will be able to hear it without seeing it.

Air condition compressor won;t kick in

Most likely a loss of refrigerant ( freon ) in the system. The A/C compressor uses a low pressure switch as a SAFETY to insure it wont turn on without freon in the system. Hope this helps.

A/C blowing hot air. Compressor activates and system has pressure.

Could be the expansion valve. That's what allows the temperature to actually drop in the system - the contents of the AC system are under pressure, and are at a certain temperature. When the freon goes through the expansion valve, the pressure drops suddenly and dramatically, which "flash chills" the freon, allowing the air to blow cold. If it fails, you may get lukewarm air from the AC despite everything else working. Also though, check to see whether the AC evaporator fan (underhood) is working - on some cars, if it doesn't turn on, the compressor won't be run enough to cool the air.

Check your pressures again. Jump the pressure switch and see if this makes the compressor come on. If it does then jump it long enough to get some more freon into the system. This should give switch enough pressure.

Make sure your vacuum is good on the system before you fill.
