I have a 97 Dodge caravan suddenly died. I have good fuel pressure and spark at the distributor but no spark on the plugs. tried changing control module. could it be a position sensor or manifold pressure sensor?

If there is spark at the distributor it should be getting to the plugs. I would check the cap and rotor for excessive wear. The next thing in line to check after that would be the plug wires, though those go bad much more rarely. The cap and rotor are items that need to be replaced on a regular basis every tune up but can go 75k-100k if necessary.

If you have spark going into the distributor from the coil, then its not coming out of the cap, which would mean to replace your distributor cap and rotor.

Make sure ignition wires are not cracked - try a new set of plug wires and make sure you have proper gap at the plugs

I got a 200 dodge caravan 3.3 it will run for 10 to 20 mi then stop and wot run

You need to test for spark at a plug wire , coil , distributor etc... That sounds very much like an ignition module or crank sensor going bad. If when it dies after 10 to 20 min. an won't start pull a plug wire an have someone try to start the vehicle while you hold plug wire end near ground ,to look for spark . If there is spark , check fuel pressure . Fuel pump could be going out , fuel pump relay etc...

97 caravan stumles when you give it gas

Very likely a low fuel pressure problem. Have you changed the fuel filter? Check the fuel pressure against vehicle spec's while running at idle and again at about 3000 RPM. Also check pressure with key on/engine off. If you lose pressure between idle and higher RPM's you probably have a weak fuel pump. Same goes for if you lose pressure after initial key on/engine off. You could also have a problem with a weak ignition coil, spark plug wires or spark plugs but not as likely.

My girlfriend owns a 1996/7 (VIN says 1997, but door sticker says 1996. Im assuming late 1996, but a 1997 year model). Recently it started, ran for a few minutes, then died. It has not run since. I have...

ok first answer is the door says a month and date of manufacturer. its a 97. second if you have fuel pressure then you have eliminated the fuel problem. the crank sensor sounds suspect. you said random cyl misfire and that is leading me to the crank sensor. the pickup coil in the distributor could also be suspect. did you change the cap and rotor? ive seen the rotor burn thru and short. doubt if you lost compression all of a sudden.

check for spark if there is spark present the it could be the map sensor.
if you don't have spark then the crank sensor in side the distributor is bad

Will not start wants to turn over but no fire

Try the coil, But first take a spark plug out and put it back in the cap, then rest it on the engine somewhere and then get a friend to turn over the engine to see if there is a spark at that plug, if not then check the lead between the coil and the distributor cap for good connection, if you still dont have a spark it will probably be the coil mate, Having said that if you have a healthy spark then check you have a fuel supply, Colin.

1994 dodge dakota ran rough then died.

have you checked the distributor? When checking for the spark do you pull out one end of the high tension wire (the one connected to the spark plug )and watch (be careful with this one) if there are sparks coming of the end of the high tension wire? If there are none there check out the distributor it may have gone bad or wiring, specifically the ground connector if they are loose or had been disconnected.

If there are sparks in the high tension check the fast idle control valve and the PCV if they need cleaning and the vacuum tubes if there are leaks
