I have a 1998 S-10 that has the same problem. The windshied wipers operate intermittantly. I am going to see if Ebay might have a wiper motor unit for my year & model S-10. I will follow up on a response to ths problem soon.

I had a 1994 Chev S-10 with intermittent wiper operation. There was recall for this problem years ago, unfortunately the truck was too old for the recall. The fix I found was there were cracked solder joints on the wiper circuit board where the 5 pin body connector hooks to the board. Just remove screws from the cover, remove the circuit board and solder it and reinstall. Quick fix.

My 98 s10 had the same problem. I changed the circuit board and then it was working again.

I dont think u need a wiring diagram. you should check your wiper motor circuit board first. on my 94 s10 the wipers either worked when they wanted to and now they dont work at all. just either replace the circuit board yourself ($19.95 on ebay) or replace the whole wiper motor ($60 on ebay) and your wipers should work. just give this a shot as its a good place to start. i myself am going to replace the wiper circuit board as its cheap, and really easy to access and replace. all you need is a screw driver. good luck. and no, im not a GM Technician. just owned my truck since day 1 and always try to check vehicle forums for answers first.

Replacing a fuse for my wipers. Which fuse goes to the wipers. I don't have a manual

If you don't know what fuse it is how do you know it's dead ? Maybe ,more then likely the wiper motor is bad ! Myself , I would check power at the wiper motor > Find a wiring diagram at www.bbbind.com to see what wire is the power wire . Because if the fuse were blown it would be because of a short circuit on that wire or the motor itself ! A 2001 dodge , I would suspect the wiper motor being bad .

My windshield wipers work then dont?

It sounds like you have a wire shorting out.also on most newer models, there are sensors and relays that run everything.check owners manual for wiring diagram.and when its NOT working use test light on all components i.e. relay, sensor, wiper motor. this should help pin point your problem

1978 Pontiac Transam, wiper motor, wiper switch and transmission all work fine.. can not get the wipers to work, Where are we going wrong. There is power to all 3 sources all wires are working.

Interesting problem! Since you have power to all three, it isn't the fuse. I can't download the diagrams right now, but I think there is a wiper pulse module in the 1978 Pontiac Transam. While it mainly controls the intermitant or delay wiper mode, if it shorted out it could cause nothing to work right. You need to verify that you do have that module first.

I have checked the wind shield wipers motor to try to find out what is shorting out the fuse. Where could the short be located that is causing the wiper fuse to blow?

You need to isolate the problem by disconnecting the windshield wiper motor. If the fuse does not blow with the wiper motor disconnected the problem is in the windshield wiper motor. If the fuse still blows with the motor disconnected, there is a 12 volt wire shorted to the frame. You will most likely need a set of wiring schematics to trace down the short.

Changed wiper motor when it blew the fuse. it worked about a day and now it blows the fuse even with the wiper switch off in need of the wiring diagram for an 87 dodge dakota wiper assembly

YOUR WIPER SWITCH HAS A SHORT OR THE WIRING GOING TO THE WIPER MOTOR HAS A SHORT.CHECK WIRING FOR BREAKS AND OPENS THAT WOULD CAUSE SHORTING.

Back window windshield wiper will not turn off, bought vehicle used with no owners manual. need to know which fuse operates back wiper.

The fuse for that probably controls a couple other things than just the back wiper because it is not a real high power item.If you can get at the wiper motor, you may want to check the wiring and trace the wiring as far as you can.If you have an electrical measuring instrument, you could find out if the motor is shorted somehow, but that could also be in the wiring leading up to it.If you turn on the wiper and just start pulling fuses, probably 15 or 20 amp,you should be able to find it.Also, some local libraries have haynes repair manuals sometimes which could tell you,or maybe buy one at a national auto repair store. They are usually about $20.Maybe a dealer will give you a free or low cost diagram too.

Nothing electrical works on rear door wiper, licen

Open the rear hatch and look for the wiring harness that goes into the door. Inspect the harness for cut or damaged wires. Also look for failed fused links. These are wires that are design to fail when the circuit is over loaded or shorted. They serve the same purpose as fuses but usually more than one circuit is wired thru them. If you dont find anything wrong then you will need to aquire a wiring diagram to further trouble the circuits.

If the same as on a 93 the wiper motor has two connectors.

Connector A (motor):

wiper switch to motor (high) - dark brown / orange
wiper switch to motor (low) - white

Connector B (park switch):

wiper switch to motor (park and return) - red
wiper switch to motor (park return) - black

Hope this helps.

Blowing dome light and rear wiper fuse.

Sounds like a dead short to me. You will need to find a wiring diagram for this one. Without it, I'd start by unpluging the motor and the light one at a time. Another good place to check is at the rear hatch, where the wiring harness enters the hatch, this is a common area for broken/shorted wires.Check that and let me know, I'll help how I can.
Good luck
