Removing steering wheel from 1986 model ford xlt spectron van automatic

first off the center cover needs to be removed from the steerin wheel. some can be pulled off and some have screws on the back side you remove then the cover will come off. once you determine that be careful the covers have control wires that are attached to it that go into the column. gently push in on the connector and turn counter clock wise and the wire will come out with the can usually rent a steerin whell puller from your local parts store and and use it to remove the steerin wheel after you have removed the nut holdin the steerin wheel on. if you dont have the puller, you can back the nut off to where its flush with the steerin shaft, then turn counter clock wise approximately another quarter turn and take a hammer and strike the nut and this usually breaks the steering wheel lose from the shaft. let me know.
