Question about 2003 Toyota Camry

1 Answer

I have a 2003 Toyota Camry with the 4 cyl eng., I was changing the air filter and a hose that was attached to the rear right of the filter housing snapped off. I have been trying to get the part nomenclature or name so I can replace it. Does anyone know what that is called? I thought it would be a vaccum componet but I can't find it in any of the online schematics.

Is it a large hose going into the valve cover? If so, it could be a breather vent hose or part of the p.c.v. or e.g.r. system. These systems are sometimes tied into the air cleaner assembly.

1999 toyota camry 4 cyl check engine light on code reader said egr valve

A common problem for egr failures are the modulator valves, the valve is attached directly to the egr valve, it's a round plastic housing with three vacuum lines on it, try replacing this valve.

Where is the air intake hose on a 2003 camry?

That would be the large hose in between the air filter housing and the throttle body.

Need instructions for t belt replace 2004 camry 4 cyl

Starting around 2003 toyota changed the design of their 4 cyls in the camry, they no longer use a timing belt, they use a chain that doesnt require you to change it like a belt.

How to change air filter for toyota camry 2003 thanks

The steps are described below

  1. Turn off the car before changing the air filter. Don't start the car once the air filter has been removed, it acts as a barrier were the car to backfire.
  2. Locate the box that houses the air filter. Look in the front driver's side of the car, closest to the windshield, near the center of the engine compartment.
  3. Undo the clips that keep the housing lid secure. Lift the lid and compress the accordion-type tubing towards the engine.
  4. Remove the old filter from the housing unit. Clean any leaves or debris out of the box.
  5. Replace the old filter with a new filter that is made for the specific make and model year of your Toyota Camry. Use a K&N air filter, part number 33-2260, for a Camry manufactured from 2002 to 2007.
  6. Pull the lid back over to the air filter housing unit, and snap it in place. Reattach the clips to secure the lid.

I was changing the air filter and something dropped behind the housing and I can't find it. Now I have 2 hoses that are not hookd to anything but neither one is long enough to reach the nipple on the air...

It is hard to help without v6 or 4 cylinder info. You nedd to get a good flashlight and find that. I think it might be the vsv that is sometimes on the filter housing. Are these hoses small. Do they have colors on them.
