Blown intake monifold

Doesn't mean it's intake manifold , could be burnt intake valve . Have a cylinder compression test to find weak cylinder , then do cylinder leak down test ! If you are unfamiliar with this , I suggest you take it to a ASE certified repair shop ! IF it is a burnt intake valve that cylinder hear will have to be taken off an taken to a automotive machine shop !

Just put motor in my suv it ran fine on way home in expedition done. Pulled 4,6 installed it in my exp, now when I start it pops through intake.

If the timing isn't off and you don't have valve problems. You have an intake leak. Check the codes.

Car wont fire up, just an occasional pop!

YES! if it pops back through the intake, you have either 1 or more intake valves too tight. If its not throught the intake, then check the exhaust valves. One trick to check the exhaust valves is to place a dollar bill over your exhaust, it should ALWAYS flap back away from the exhaust pipe. If at anytime the bill sucks up into the exhaust, then you do have an exhaust valve too tight. Its kinda like this:

Engine pops when running and has no power

Usually a sign of a burnt-damaged intake valve or problem with the cam timing, or a problem with the distributor cap and wires.

Bottom of intake has a hole in the bottom of it , would that make it pop in the carb ?

You don't say what year, make, or model of vehicle you are asking about. This makes answering difficult. BUT, there should NEVER be a hole in the bottom of an intake. This will cause a reduction in engine vacuum,. introduce dirt and grit into the engine, and cause poor fuel economy and poor engine performance. Get the intake problem fixed and you are well on your way to a better performing vehicle.

head gaskets can\will leak between the head and block. I would also check where the intake meets the heads. But normally if its leaking there itll get into the oil.check for puddles where the intake meets the block in all four corners of the intake. At the beginning of the cold weather did you have good coolant in it? you may have a freeze plug partially popped out.that, normally that will be caused by weak coolant but they can pop out by age.A freeze plug is a much easier fix than head or intake gaskets.
keep me posted thx.......
