Transmision fluid leaking on ground what would be the problem?

Depends on where it's leaking from. Could be a bad hose going to the cooler, could be a bad fitting at the cooler, could be the front seal on the transmission. You need to clean the underside of the car real good and then park your car over some cardboard. that way when it drips, you can figure out about where it's leaking. Could also be leaking from the fluid pan due to loose screws or a failing gasket.

I have a 1992 chevy cheyene.I am leaking transmision fluid? How expensive is this to repair?

It could vary depending on the source of the leak...I would suggest taking it to a transmission shop for a free estimate. If it is an inexpensive repair, have them fix it. If they say the repair is expensive get another estimate from a different shop...good luck

My 01 impala has got transmission fluid everywhere under my hood whats wrong and how much are we talking to fix it

Well leaks are not that expensive at all. But i would say go under your car and wipe all tthe fluid and put a cardboard under the transmission to locate the leak source than you can find out if its from the drain plug or from the oil pan. Good luck

I change the transmision fluid for my accent 2002 and put me a castrol dex/merc. It is the right?

Absolutely *do not* use Mercon III. Use only SPIII fluid in your transmission. It's available at Chrysler/Dodge, Hyundai, Kia, and Mitsubishi dealers. It'll be expensive, but nowhere near as expensive as the required transmission repairs that may result from using the wrong fluid.

Transmision fluid leaking

Hi, it sounds like the leak is coming from the torque converter seal. when the engine is running the converter is spinning and keeping it from leaking. check the front of the trans and inside of the inspection cover.

On my 99 saturn sl 1.9, I have a bad transmision fluid leak from the oil cooler line at the transmision end, what kind of fitting is that? do I need to replace the hose assembly or can I just replace the...

Hi Bob and welcome to Fixya. Most of those lines are a standard line that just push on and you clamp them in place. Go to any auto parts place tell them your make and model along with the issue that you have where the cooling line mates to the tranmission. NAPA and Auto Zone have computerized images that you can actually point to the area where you have the leak.

I am most certain they will be able to solve your problem with the correct parts without much expense in no time.

If it is trans fluid the cooler inside your radiator must have a leek. Yes it is possible for it to get itno the trans. Check to see if the fluid is milky.

Transmision slipping and using fluid

If you have a vacuum modulator on the side of the transmission make sure it is good...any trans fluid in the vacuum hose or inside the modulator shows failure. Unit should not "use" fluid unless there is an external leak. Failure there will affect shifting.
