Yes it does
you can purchase a bottle of coolant dye at most auto parts store to confirm the leak
the dye will expose itself were the leak is at to provide what seems to be the problem

My 1996 chevy silverado started leaking water what does that mean

Find the leak. Fill it, drive it, let it sit. The leak will be close to where it comes from. Radiator will be at the front of the truck, under the radiator. Water pump will be at the front of the engine, could be left or right depending on what it flows off of. Heater hoses will leak at the back. You just have to get under the truck and follow the water lines to the source. Or at least close to it. Fix it or you may have to replace the engine because of overheating..

I have a 89 pontiac firebird Trans Am "GTA" 5.7L tuned port injected. My engine gets hot somehow and my car has a quick start but lower power afterward. What could the problem be?

Fix the radiator cooling problems. You will damage the engine if you keep running the car in an overheated condition.

1. Replace the thermostat in the cooling system
2. Replace the water pump
3. Flush the cooling system thoroughly and re-fill with the correct coolant. Bleed any air out of the system otherwise you will have problems with air blockages and thus poor coolant flow.

You probably do not know how to do any of this so take it to a reputable workshop or cooling specialist to have it done.

Take off a water pump 89subaru ea82engine

Presume this is a non-turbo engine. Remove engine timing belt, drain coolant, remove and replace the water pump mounted on the front left of the engine, and re-assemble. Remember to follow correct procedure to reset the timing belt tensioner, and this would be a dandy time to replace the timing belt also. Refill with coolant, run until thermostat opens

Coolant leaking from above front suspension

If it's from the front of the engine, the water pump may have failed. Check for water coming out from the bottom of the pump.
Was the overheating caused by low coolant level?
If not the pump, check your engine freeze plugs and hoses.

Car overheated and now leaks coolant

Thats not a good sign. When a engine overheads, the heads tend to warp, especially aluminum heads. It could be something as simple as a hose or waterpump leaking, but because its associated with an overheat condition, I suspect a warped head. Most garages have a pressure tester where they can pressurize your coolant system and check for leaks without the engine running.
