Question about 2007 Chevrolet Equinox LS New Cars

1 Answer

My son has this same problem..2007 Equinox 80 amp mega fuse. His car broke down on the side of the road after his wife let someone use the car to jump themselves off. Do you know if the car can be driven like this? Also, can the fuse be bought from auto parts stores, or does it have to be the dealership (as it is of course after hours)?

2008 Equinox steering quit. It was the mega 80 fuse, and a $6.00 fix. I have NEVER boosted anyone, so not sure what happened. Will see if it goes again but sure hope it was just a one time incident.

Electric power steering quit is there a fuse on 2007 chevy equinox

The Chevy Equinox has an 80 Amp mega fuse that tends to fail and cause all sort of power steering and Stabilitrak issues. Before I messed with the belts or power steering pumps, I would check the fuse first.

StabiliTrak says needs to be serviced

My daughter used her Equinox to jump another vehicle, afterwards the steering was stiff and the service stabilitrack light was on. The 80 amp fuse (GM part number 2268-9708) was blown.

The real reason for the blown fuse was that she did not connect the jumper cables to the battery but rather across the 80 amp fuse. The cover over the fuse box has a red + sign on it and thus she thought it was the battery. The battery is harder to get to, as it has an electronics module mounted on top of the battery cover. The battery is immediately forward of the fuse box. I wonder how many others have blown the fuse because of incorrectly connected jumper cables.....
