I am trying to get spark to fire the motor in my dodge raider. The ballast resistor and coil had all the wires disconnected. Where do the wires connect back too?

The negative side of the coil goes to ground. The positive side goes to the ballast resistor. The other side of the ballast resistor connects to the ignition switch. More information might be had on manualsonline.com.

I'm trying to find an ignition wiring diagram for my 1977 dodge melmar fargo f40 rv

The ignition circuit should be the same as any 1977 Dodge truck, which is basically battery to ignition switch, start side of switch bypasses ballast resistor and goes directly to coil, run side of switch goes to ballast resistor (on firewall) and then to coil. This is done so that you have full 12 volts to coil when starting thus giving higher voltage to plugs to start, but lower amps, but when running you go through the resistor to get lower volts (about 7) to coil to increase amps for a fatter spark and better fuel economy.

318 engine with no spark to coil or spark plugs. how do i fix this

William, your car uses a ballast resistor that causes what you describe. This is usually a ceramic white, rectangular piece, mounted on the firewall.
The voltage to the coil has to be dropped to 8 volts, or so. Chrysler handles that with a ballast resistor and it fails.
To test, you can wire across the resistor and see if you have spark.
My recollection is one side is for the coil and one side for the wipers or something like that.

This is a common problem.

Where is the ballast resistor located on a 1996 dodge dakota

cant see a listing for a 1996 dakota ballast resistor
if it had one would be a ceramic block close to the old school round coil

this is its coil
there is an ignition coil driver in the wiring diagram

Keep burning up coils on a 1990 Dodge Ram Van 2500 with a 318 motor.

there should be a white ballast resistor in the circuit to cut the amperage back on the coil.
Check or replace ballast resistor sometimes they was mounted on firewall next to the ignition module either a 2 prong or 4 prong white ballast resistor.

I have a 1985 Dodge Ram Charger. I am trying to replace the ballaster resistor and can not locate it. The book show it on the firewall or fender wheel however it is not located any of those places....

Should be on the firewall, yes. Perhaps follow the wire from the coil back to the ballast.
I assume the truck fires then dies as soon as you let off the starter? That's how a bad ballast would act.

Help please i have a 1987 dodge ram pick up that died on me on the hyway i find now there is no spark from comming out of the coil i ran a positive wire direct from the battery to the Pos. Side of the coil...

Check the ballast resistor mounted on the fire wall. It's white about 3 inches long with one screw in the middle. Use a test light and check to see if you are getting fire across both terminals. If not replace it. Fire comes from the ignition through the starter relay to the ballast resistor and then the coil. Hope this will help you.

Dead cylinders 2003 sebring

it sounds like you may have the wires on the wrong coil. It should be #1 on the #4 coil, and the #3 wire on the #2 coil. you probably have them backwards so 1 and 3 are firing on the exhaust stroke.
the firing order is 1-3-4-2.
they should be hooked like this.

Turns over but won't start

Is the rotor turning in the distributor? If so, most likely the problem is in the madnetic pickup in the distributor. If not, pull the distributor out and see if the gear on the shaft is broken. A good gear on the distributor and the distributor not turning means you need a timing chain!!!
