Question about 2002 Lincoln LS
The fuel cut off reset switch is located behind the driverside left kick panel, if you are sitting inside the car and where your left foot is, theres a panel there should be a hole there but sometimes there isnt, and the panel must be pulled off or back, there you will see the switch and on the top of it is where you would use your finger to push down, here a diagram to help you. good luck.

Many cars have a safety feature that shuts off the fuel pump when the engine stops running. It bypasses this feature when you first start. This is all done by comoputer and sensor, most likly the sensor is bad but a check at a repair shop with the computer diagnotic tool will confirm. Advance auto parts will sometimes plug this tool in and deterrmine what the problem is for you and sell you the part to repair. Maybe see if they will rent it to you. They rent other tools

Testimonial: "thanks for the tip, I sure wouldn't have thought yhat. I thought maybe it was in the gas tank like some others I've heard about.thanks again. "
It is not in the trunk. It is on the left side, in front of the drivers door, just above the floor mat. Side panel if you want to call it such. What problems are you having? I have the same veh and all the manuals including wiring diagrams.
