If it's an electric window it's either a wire that's come loose or the power window motor has gone bad.

replace window motor it should come with the window regulator as well. it takes more power to push window up then down. wore out motors will act like this. the fact that it trys at all tells you the switch, relay and circit breaker are good

The windows in the back seat won't go up...there was no sound...one window is stuck about 5 inches from the top and won't go up or down

Try replacing the fuse for your back windows or you might have to replace the electric motor that operates the back windows.

Check the window switch before you go and rip the doors apart.

Mine is doing the same!

If it is a window that is down and will not go back up.......

Start the car.....
(We want the highest voltage to the window motor)
Now go to the window in question........just as you push up on the window button.....WHACK the door HARD.......you may need repeated QUICK WHACKS.......the window will go up on 90% of cars by doing this.
The power to the window may only be present for 5 seconds under load.(stuck motor)
After 5 seconds wait a minute and try again if needed.
DO NOT PUT THAT WINDOW BACK DOWN until you replace the window motor or check the problem.

I have a 06 saturn ion. my window will go up

towards the back of the door is a short track that runs left to right. there should be a nut either loose or missing on this track. put loctite on the stud, then put the nut back on. do this AFTER the window is back on track.
