Re: 2003 pontiac grand prix
Make sure you compressor is kicking on. find you a/c compressor. there should be a gear on the front of it. DO NOT touch it. turn the a/c on high and max look at the gear see if it kicks on and off.
Just DO NOT get your hand in the way just incase the gear does kick.

may be low on 134a freon. The compressor cannot cycle without enough freon in the system. Buy a can at the store and add it to the system. if This does not work, have it serviced by a qualified a/c tech
If the compressor is working, a mechanic would check the low and high gauge pressure. The freon has to flow thru the system to work, and the cooling fan draws air thru the condenser to get rid of the heat from inside the car. If the ac clutch is working but the gauges show equal pressure, the compressor may be faulty.
Your low on freon, as it is running can you turn the control from cool to hot and it responds if yes the blender door is operational, and still the solution is you need freon it normal for freon to leak out 10% a year.If its never been serviced it is low
Two things can be the problem, first, try adding ,a little freon,if it is low,it will only cool one side, then if this does not help, there is a door actuator motor that controls this,it could be not working, the dash has to come out to replace this actuator motor,if this was at all helpful, please rate, thank you.
With regards to you a/c not blowing cold there are several faults that could cause this. Your compressor may not be working, they may be a restriction in your A/C lines, your compressor and/or evaporator may be clogged, you may have a leak, or i could be something as simple as fuse.
