Who did all the parts changing & why?
Your not going to tell me any of thoses
parts were tested or any where bad are you.
Now you know why 3.2 Billion Dollars a year of
    unnecessary parts are purchased worldwide

pczapp, my husband changed those parts. No; we did not spend money on all those parts. It so happens that he drives a '98 Merc Villager on which we knew the parts were good. We switched them out, doing the checking, so we did not have to make purchases. Thanks for the advice on purchase of unnecessary parts. It is true that billions of dollars are spent unnecessarily. Our experience, too, is that just because you buy a new replacement part, don't assume the part is good and start looking for another solution to the problem. New parts are defective sometimes.

Turned out, it was the timing belt. Couldn't tell it was bad by looking at it. Had to turn it by hand, Many of the teeth were missing. Belt didn't break, but wasn't grabbing properly. Replaced. Now the car starts. It's all back together, but the fun job is this: timing is off and it's not from the distributor. Somehow the timing belt is off a notch or so. Gotta go back in, remove it and adjust...fun, fun, fun.

1997 Mercury Villager car will turn over, but will not start. Used ether but nothing. Can't get spark. Installed another coil-- nothing. Installed electonic ignition module--nothing. Any ideas???

if you can get a scan tool, hook it up and check to see if you are getting engine RPM while cranking. if not than you may have faulty cranck sensor.
