How to get rid of a check light with out scan tool

Check light is a warning sign of something faulty, like sensors, relays, solenoids, and even a short. So to get rid of the check engine you must run codes with scanner and fix it. No other turn around possible. If you tamper with the function of the instrumental panel it will cost you more. Plus is unlawful mostly in the 51 States to modify such thing to pass emissions. Good luck

1995 dodge ram 1500 318 motor it wont get fire where is the logic module located

Under hood, passenger side mounted on the firewall, but ...
Could be something else ,crank sensor or cam,or ign.rotor ect.
The module like 3 hundred bucks.Try this ,turn the key
on-off-on-off-on( without out hitting the starter) the check
engine light should begin to flash.
Here is a code list, may narrow down the problem.
Diagnostic Trouble Code Descriptions and service hints. Fault Code DRB Display Code Description. Service hints. 11 No Crank reference signal at PCM No Distributor reference signal detected during engine cranking. Check the circuit between the distributor and PCM. 12 Battery Disconnect Direct Battery input to PCM disconnected within last 50 ignition key-on cycles. Normal if battery has been disconnected, otherwise check battery power and ground connections. 13** No change in MAP from start to run No difference seen between the engine MAP reading and the barometric (atmospheric) pressure reading at startup. Indicates a problem with the MAP sensor vacuum system. 14** MAP sensor voltage too low or too high MAP sensor voltage output is outside the acceptable range. 15** No Vehicle speed sensor signal No signal received from the vehicle speed sensor during road load operation. 17* Engine is cold too long Engine temperature too high or too low while traveling. Check coolant level, radiator cap, temperature sensor, and thermostat. 21** O2S Stays at center O2S shorted to voltage O2 sensor does not detect rich or lean condition, or O2 sensor input voltage too high. DRB will indicate which side with dual sensors. The O2 sensor signal should fluctuate under normal conditions. 22** ECT sensor voltage too high or too low Engine Coolant temperature sensor input out of normal range. Check engine temperature sensor. 23** Intake air temp sensor voltage too high or low Intake air manifold temperature sensor is out of range. Check sensor. 24** Throttle position sensor voltage too high or low TPS sensor is out of normal range. 25** Idle air control motor circuits A short is detected in one or more of the idle air motor circuits. 27* Injector # control circuit Injector number # output driver circuit does not respond to the control signal. Truck will be running fine, then all of a sudden it will completely shut off. After we wait a few minutes and pump the clutch and make sure it is all the way to the floor it will start, sometimes. S

You need the engine computer scanned for fault codes, i thank you have an ignition control problem like a module or distributor pickup coil issue. These parts whenthey fail should leave fault cdes so get them read.
Next, the check engine light will pause shortly followed by the second digit of the trouble code. For example if the check engine light blinks once and pauses followed by six blinks the trouble code number would be 16. If no code is present the check engine light will stay one constantly. To restart code gathering turn the ignition key to the "off" position, wait three minutes and turn the ignition key back "on" again without starting the engine. Remove the jumper wire once code gathering is complete. To clear code after the repairs have been made remove the negative battery cable for one minute and reconnect.

2009 ford explorer wrench appears and starts running rough,

The Wrench Symbol is the Powertrain malfunction indicator: When this symbol comes on it means that the powertrain control module (PCM for short) has detected a problem in the powertrain (engine, transmission AWD), in you case it seems to be the engine that has problem. The number of problems that turns this light on is not cut and dry, it can be any number of things that have malfunctioned. What must be done now is to the the system scanned for fault codes, a fault code or codes is stored for the problem when this light came on or in your case comes on. It is likely this problem is covered under the emission system warranty if you have less than 70,000 miles on the truck.

Had a tcm problem, put a new one in and now my car wont start. im getting a flashing d4 light?

If D4 blinking means that the TCU (transmission control unit) has detected a fault and stored a fault code. The good news is that there are only four electrical gizmos in the tranny (plus the TCU) thus should be easy to find. To get the fault code: short the blue, two prong ’service check connector’ located behind the passenger foot kick panel (aligator clip usually works well) Turn on ign (do not start). Count the flashes of the D4 and check engine light.

Also, this problem can be solved by replacing an AT Control Unit, which is located underneath the passenger side floorboard. There are two computers underneath the floorboard. It is the one on the right, the smaller unit.

Keep in mind that the numbers must match exactly. The numbers vary according to whether the car is an LX, DX or EX. Simply disconnect the battery, take out the two plugs that plug into the bottom of the computer, and replace the unit. The problem should be solved. The Control Unit can be purchased from a salvage yard for $50-100. We think that the numbers match on 90-93 and are therefore interchangeable.

    Tell us news.

WHY IS THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT ON IN MY SATURN??

The Check Engine light will light when the ECU stores a trouble code.
    Counting the Flashes
To retrieve trouble codes, turn the ignition key to the "on" position with the engine OFF.
The Check engine light will flash many short blinks. The total number of blinks equals the code number. For example, flash, pause, flash, flash = code 12.If more than one code is stored, the Check engine light will flash the codes in sequence (lowest to highest) with a pause between each code. The codes will repeat until the key is turned to the OFF position.

Engine service requaird light what does this mean?

this usually indicates to a emission fault, the feedbacks to the ecm are outside the preset parameters, find the code that is associated with this message,a p plus a 4 digit code,p1132 for example, this will narrow down the area that is the source, word of warning ,dont jump to conclusion given what the code that is indicated,as for example air or vacuum leak in emission control area could be all that is wrong when a fault in a 02 sensor or mass flow sensor is indicated, find a mate or a local mechanic that has a scan tool to retreive p code, dont delete before you take down the number or you need to wait till message comes up again good luck
