Yes because it is belt driven and I assume the cars previous owner didn't change it thats why he sold it to you. I would say change it.

I just bought a 1987 BMW 325 6 cylinder with 98,000 miles. I believe it to be the eta (e) or economy engine. The car had the timing belt 2,000 miles ago in 2000, but the car has not been driven since...

belts should be changed every 60,000 miles or 5 years max so it is due a belt anyway.
if the belt does come apart it will do serious damage to the valves , head and pistons.

i would change the water pump at the same time for peace of mind. especially as it will be exposed while doing the belt, and you do not know if the pump is seized/worn.

How do i programme my new keyless control in jeep cherokee 20004 model

If you bought them from the dealer they will program them for you. If not, it is best to go to the dealer and have them programed. I purchased mine through the dealer and they had to be programmed. Didn't take no time! Hope this helps

Timing belt

I call B.S! A 6 mo old belt won't look old and cracked like a 5 or 10 year old belt. Sure they can't exactly tell that it's new (6 mo is not) but they can tell that it is not worn! My mother in law used to get lied to by mechanics all the time. I would replace her brakes and two months later a mechanic would tell her she needed new brakes and that it was dangerous to continue driving. I would get so mad that they would con her like that.

Allways ask for your old parts back from the shop!

What else needs to be changed when doing a timing belt on a 1999 honda accord? and about how much should it cost?

Technically, nothing else needs to be changed when replacing a timing belt, however it is recommended or suggested to replace the timing belt tensioner and water pump while doing the belt. These items are only accessable when doing a timing belt. The cost should be under $100.00

My mazda 6 ts2 seems to have 2 headlight bulbs that dont do anything any ideas

Steve, have you heard of spare bulbs. So that you do not lose/misplace them after cleaning the car, Mazda has placed them where they are required. Right in the headlights.

Loses horsepower,,poor fuel mileage,,coils replaced by private owner but not sure wires on right. changing wires around doesn't better or wosen. got firing order?

firing order is 1 2 3 4 5 6. does it run smooth?? you cant change it even if you want to....Number 6 cylinder coil is longer than the others. Check fuel pressure, ck scan data. there isnt much you can do without a scanner. Was timing belt been done before you bought it?? maybe the cam timing is off???
