Question about 1991 Saturn SL1

1 Answer

I am having what I think is a contact problem with my fuses in the fuse box. I was told to spray the contacts with a electricial silicone spary. Ok I get to the parts store and they are all looking at me like "What"? Do you know of any contact spray that might help any loose fuse?

Its just electrical cleaner spray, its not silicone, a good cleaner would be mass air flow sensor cleaner. napa auto parts sells it and its good for what you are doing, it cleaner and dries up fast. you may want to pull one fuse at a time and spray into contacts in fuse box then reinstall fuse, i can tell you if that doesnt help then i would take a look at the rear of the fuse box. i have seen the connection in the rear of the box go bad and sometimes the fuse box must be replaced, i have worked on a few with back boxes, one would start sometimes and then no start, or the power would go out while driving, i belive theres a problem in the fuse box behind the center console

Fuse box diagram for 2001dodge intrepid horn

The Horn is fuse #8 in the under hood power distribution box, it is a 20 AMP yellow fuse. I think you will find the fuse is ok and the problem is the rotating horn contact (called the clockspring) under the steering wheel that is defective

Window sometime won't roll up or down then after a while it does, makes a sound down near fuse box when it won't, checked fuse it's ok.

It sounds like you have either a defective window lift motor or the window regulator is sticking due to corrosion or lack of lubrication. Dry carefully spraying silicone into the window run channels at the front and rear of the window glass, this may free it up. WARNING do not get the spray silicone on plastic trim or paint, use a rag and carful spray the fluid.

Headlights flicker

this seems most likely a loose connection corrosion or bad connection at one of your fuses or the battery.
start at your battery and check the cables are ok, expecially the Black earth, maybe the connection to the chassis is loose or corroded, ensure this connection is clean. check the connection to the battery is clean and tight. then check the fuse box only do this when the vehicle is swiced off, and spray some contact spray into the fuses a little on each fuse this may resolve the problem.

I hope this was useful

If the tail light fuse is good, I would check the headlight switch for power on that circuit.

I cant find the fuse for the ford explorer sport 2001 horn

Your truck has 2 fuse centers, the horn fuse is located under the hood in the fuse/relay box on the drivers side just next to the brake booster/master cylinder. The Horn fuse is marked #10 in the box and is a 15 AMP blue fuse. This fuse supplies power to the horn relay which is marked #7 in the same box. If you do not hear this relay click and the fuse is ok then you have either a burned out horn or a defective rotating contact under the steering wheel that connects the horn button to the circuit, it is called the "Clock-spring" contact.

My daughter's 2005 Jeep Liberty's windshield washer fluid won't pump out when you pull the wiper handle back. I don't even hear a motor trying to pump it out. What do you think the problem could be? I...

The only other two options are:-

1) The washer/pump motor has failed, needs replacing.
2) There's a bad contact/connection between switch and motor, check contacts first, clean and make good, if still no go, then you're back to option 1.

Water getting into fuse box

Spray some WD40 inside the fuse box. Then seal the box with silicone rubber at any suspicious place. Except on the top where you remove the cover. WD40 will dissipate any moisture from anywhere. You can probably use wheather stripping and silicone on the cover to seal it completely.Let it dry before putting the civer back on.
