You could have a new yoke welded on. Then you would have to have the driveline balanced. It would probably be just as cost effective to purchase a new one.

99 jeep cherokee drive line sheered at rear end

well first of all take it easy on the burnouts! ha ha. if you sheared the yoke thats a simple fix, youll just have to replace the pinion seal and the nut might be jammed on there pretty good so your going to need an impact wrench and of course a new yoke. and i would have the driveline checked before re-installing, just because it didnt break doesnt mean its not torqued. once you replace the yoke and pinon seal install the drivline and youre good to go. however if you torqued the pinion gear any its game over bro, and repairing the rear end is going to be beyond your skills. (in order to re set, shim and square the rear end you need to be a skilled mechanic, no guess work, no doing it out of a repair manual) hope this helps, good luck

Can i take the manual transmission in my 94 c1500 and put in a 700r4 automatic from a 89 chevy with a 305

It will bolt up to the block, think the flexplate is right also, don't forget to take the pilot bushing out of the crank.Probably have to buy a different kickdown cable ,then there will be the driveshaft issue.Might be able to just buy the yoke for the 700 and use the
old driveline but I'm not sure about the length.

Gmc envoy : when im stopped @ a light with my foot on the brake it feels like somebody hit me from behind. the tranny has been looked @ & repairs have been done

Well you could fix this for free if you have some lithium grease and you're mechanically inclined. Very common problem for Envoys and Trailblazers. It's your slip yoke on the end of your driveline that goes into your tranny or transfercase if it's 4x4. Just take off your driveline and grease the slip yoke, this will end that problem. I grease mine about once a year. Takes about 15 minutes to do this.

Loud thud or bang type noise coming from the front passenger tire when I turn to the left or stop hard.

Sometimes noises aren't where you think they are. If indeed it is in that area, check your swaybar end links, these will make loud noises if bad. If they are loose, replace them with one's that are greaseable, like Moog. Also, could be your slip yoke on your driveline, take it out and grease it.

End links will cost roughly $70 for Moogs for both sides and about an 1-1/2 hours to replace.
The slip yoke is easy, approximately 15 minutes and some lithium grease.

The front of the driveline that goes into the back

The tailshaft housing is removable from the transmission, inside it there is a large bushing that the yoke rides on. That bushing is probably worn out, if so, check the yoke real well too, it is probably worn out as well. The bushing must be pressed in, have a machine shop do it for you. Good luck!

How do you replace the rear u joint on a 99' gmc sonoma 2 wheel drive

Mark the driveshaft and yoke in a manner that will allow you to reassemble it in the same orientation that it's in now. This is done to avoid driveline vibrations. Next remove the 4 7/16" head bolts on the driveshaft yoke. Use a lone screw driver or pry bar to pop the driveshaft off the yoke and slide the other end out of the transmission. Using a u-joint tool press out the old u-joint and press in the new one. You could bring this to a machine shop or a mechanic and have them do it for you if you don't have the correct tools. I think autozone may rent a ball joint press out for free. Next reassemble it orientated the same way you took it off.
