Question about 1992 Mazda Protege

I just had my 92 mazda protege thru aircare and now the charging system warning light has come on. Do I have an alternator problem or did they just run the battery down when doing the emmission testing?

Any car should easily recharge the battery after 20 minutes of driving. If your light stays on you could have a bad battery or alternator or both. Most part supply stores can check your system for free. One or the other being bad will wreck the other after just a few days, so I wouldn't wait to find out for sure.

Hi, Both my wife's warning lights have come on for the battery and brake system.both happened a the same time. 1996 mazda 121 1.3 litre

For some reason, some import models tie the two warning lights together.
The problem could be low brake fluid, or the parking brake is on, or the alternator is not charging the battery among other things.

Battery won't stay charged, it is brand new battery, alternator has been checked and it is good, blown BTN 60 watt fuse, on 1994 Mazda Protege.

The 60amp fuse probably is in the circuit between the alternator and the battery. Which would be why the battery is not getting charged.
Someone would need to check for a short in the wiring between the alternator and the battery.

What does the battery warning light mean on my 2003 Mazda Protege? Someone stole my manual out of my glove box so I can't look it up.

That battery light on your instrument panel means the battery is discharging and the alternator does not charging the battery.
Better check your engine, the alternator belt might have been cut off or already missing.
The other one will be is to check the battery terminal if it is properly connected in the battery poles.
If all these are still intact, the problem would be the alternator itself. You have to bring your car to nearest garage to check the charging( voltage ) output of that alternator something might have been broken inside it. Usually the parts inside are the rectifier diode, IC regulator, and the carbon brush.
Hope that helps you out.
Thanks for asking FixYa!

2003 protege5 wont start unless jumped and dies after about 30 seconds.

Need to check battery condition first. Is it the original battery? If yes chances are it needs to be replaced. May have a dead cell or 2 & will not hold a charge. When it ran before this, was the check battery/charging light on? Also verify charging system is working correctly.

Mazda 626 handbrake light comes on when I touch brakes

It's your disk pad wear indicator warning you of imminant replacement of pads . They ground electrically thru contact in brake pads and require attention. If light goes out it's not a level problem and cheap replacement .

1994 Mazda Protege, new battery, new alternator, wont charge

You must have blown a master fuse or fusible link.

Refer to the maintenance manual.

this happens sometimes during a jump start or a direct short in the elect system.
