Car wont start timming belt is being cut into strips engine wont start

The belt is worn out and is disintegrating. It has probably jumped time. The reason the engine won't start. Depending on your car, Some engines are no tolerance. Meaning if you keep cranking it and the belt breaks, the pistons can slap the valves, bending or breaking them. Replace the belt.

2006 impala serpentine belt broke, car overheated and now wont start

Pour oil into cylinders and crank it over. Reinstall plugs and try to start. If neccessary, check compression. Takes at least 120 psi compression for engine to start easily. Probably overheated and destroyed the rings.

thats why it is important to scan the dash gauges while driving so this don't happen. Quickest fix if rings are shot is to replace the engine with a junkyard unit.

Car wont start. rplaces head gasket, spark plus distributor cap.

Its possible that your timing is off since you removed the head and distributor cap, and probably the timing belt. The camshaft, crankshaft and distributor need to be aligned exactly right relative to each other for the timing to be correct. The engine will not start if everythings not aligned right.

Are you sure that you set the timing correctly after you reinstalled the cylinder head?

Serpentine belt broke and was replaced. Now car will not start.

what do you mean "wont start" do you mean it turns over and wont start, or wont turn over?? belts dont just break, if the car wont turnover, take the belt off and manually spin every pulley with your hand, all should spin freely (except the large bottom crank pulley) you may find that one of them is siezed.

CAR WONT START

sounds like your timing belt let go..ther is a rubber plug in top of timing belt cover..remove it and see if camshaft sprocket is turning..if not, belt broke..more than likely valve or piston damage

timing is incorrect/usually have to find #1 cyl top dead cent then use camshaft alignment marks and then reinstall belt.
