Sounds like your alternator is bad. To verify attach a voltmeter to battery and it should read (while car is idling) 13.1v-15.8v anything lower and you'll need to replace alternator.

I tried that and the reading was 13.4 while the truck was idiling at normal rpm.

Have a 1985 chevy c30 silverado put a new alternator and new battery on it and my charging guage dont go up like it should

Most likely issue is a large draw on the accessory wire. Try pulling accessory fuses to see if one of them results in higher voltage on the gauge. If you find one, troubleshoot that accessory for a draw.

You probably didn't run it long enough to charge up the battery. Put a voltmeter on it and see if it needs charging, or get it charged up, or get another jump and run it for a half hour and then see if battery is charged up enough to start the engine.

If the security light is on or flashing, you may need to reset the security system.

Charged battery light stays on

11v is too low, should be over 13v, check the battery for low water if it's not a sealed one, refill if necessary to bottom of the fill ring, then charge battery. If you have a battery hydrometer tester, all the cells should then test about the same, if not and one or more cells show weak, the battery is shot. If you have no equipment, most chain auto parts stores will test it for you free, if you jump start it, and can get it there, they will also check the charging system, (alternator, belts, etc.)

This sounds like a bad alternator , maybe it charges at times and other times it does not, check connections to battery and at alternator, also make sure all fuse are good.

Check the voltage of the battery with nothing on, it should read 12 volts.
Start the engine and check it again with a few revs. It should read 14 volts.
If it does not then it is not charging. If it does and the battery stays flat, then you have a problem with the battery.

Sounds like all of the high drain devices are disabled due to a weak battery. You are still getting dash lights and radio because they are very low drain devices. Try charging the battery to test for now. It could be a failing battery, or your alternator and or voltage regulator could be going out and not charging the system. But first, try to charge the battery, and see if you can start it, if you can, let it run for at least 10 minutes. If your alternator/VR is going out or is already out, you should have a guage, or idiot light telling you that you have low voltage. If its a light, you should see a red battery lit up on the dash, if its a guage, it should be directly in the middle +/- a little. If you are able to run the vehicle for a while with no light coming on, or guage showing low voltage, its safe to say you drained the battery, or it is failing. If its a few years old or more, i'd go ahead and replace it. Hope this helps :)

Charge airconditioning for saturn 2001

to just charge the system if it is low, then just buy a recharge kit with a pressure guage built into it. They are very common. I would buy the one with the dye and a dye detection light. Either way when you do this it goes in the low pressure side. fill it till it is to the correct pressure and the guage has pictures to show you how much to put in. The one with the dye will tell you if you have a leak and where it is. If you need to completely redo the entire system right back and tell me, but you will need more instructions.

You should be able to download an owner's manual from one of many web sites for a nominal fee. If the battery warning light is on, it could be the battery or the charging circuit (alternator). Check the battery connections first and the battery. If you know how to use a voltmeter, attach it to the battery and see if the battery voltage is around 13.6 - 14.5 volts, indicating that the charging circuit is ok. If the battery is the origiginal, it could simply need replacing.

Note: If you disconnect the battery, you may have to re-program the radio/stereo with a special code. If you don't have this code, only the dealer can give it to you and you will have to prove you are the legal owner.
