Does the car crank? (if not it is a power issue) - (dead battery and weak charging system or both)
If it cranks, then you have a spark or fuel issue...

Good fun chasing this one down.... Died on the side of the road when my wife tried to lower the window. Would not restart. She could not raise the windows before she walked home. Car restarted 5hrs later, but died when my buddy hit the turn signal. Towed it home. Again no windows. Door locks would only unlock with the Ign. on, but worked normally ign. off. Window controls will only dim out the interior lights Ign. on or off. Seems like a bad ground. Oh yea No fuel PSI... and seat controls worked before the last restart, but dead now. Where the F is the ground for all these... Or is it the PCM? (black box behind the glove box?) I know it controls the door locks, but what else? Yea I need a service manual with a good wiring diagram. Any help would be great.

were yours the same if so can you please help me give me the steps that you took to fix your problem thanks or email at thankyou

It sounds like you are looking towards the inside of the steering column..,.. ignition switch. 'm leaning towards thinking that you have a boat load of keys (weight) on the car key ring,. if so,. loose the weight (all the extra keys and stuff) and change your ignition switch.

Now, for your Second (and is a separate) problem -- The dimming lights are norm when working windows and other electrical items, especially if it the car is not running, but if it is more than typical, then you may (and perhaps should) look into the alternator and or battery along with all the connections.

referring to your other request to find a wiring diagram: Go to the dealer service department,. they are able to help you with this, if not try another (oldsmobile/ chevy) dealer.. it also may not hurt (if you have a good rapport with them to ask if they have knowledge of this sort of problem as being regular for this year/ make/ model - there may be a regular weakness in this vehicle for this issue...

    Good luck and best regards

Possible "crank position sensor", but also inspect the harmonic balancer coming apart, the back of it has the on/off window plate that the ckp reads for ecm functions.

How do i change the serpintine belt on a 1998 oldsmobile eighty eight?

This is what I could find. I'm not familiar with your car. But depending on the tensioner tipe. You might have to push the tensioner pulley down with a socket wrench. To remove the belt.

Oldsmobile 1998 88. "ANTI-LOCK" and "TRACTION OFF" lights

There is only one thought or answer.

Since 1980, whenever you get a check light on, you go to a repair shop. They check the codes, that set the light, and use that as a starting point, to diagnose and repair your issues.

I need the color code for the radio of a olds eighty eight

No & they usually don't. One of the easiest & cleanest ways of doing it, is to go to auto supply store or stereo store & buy the adapter harness. Few bucks saves many headaches & makes it easy & clean to switch back if you sell the vehicle.
