The check oil level light is'nt the change oil reminder light and it has one of them too. The check oil leval light uses a senser on the side of the oil pan just above the internal baffle that when covered with oil turns the light off but if real dirty or bad or the wire broken or disconnected anywhere it'll leave the light on. If the dipstick says theirs enough oil and you feel that you've put in the required 5 quarts of oil after the change with a new filter then the senser or it's wires are bad and need to be repaired. I've changed a bunch of these sensers and they do fail from overheating and most of the time if their bad their leaking a little bit too. Thier expensive too so alot of peaple just disgrgard them or remove the bulb or short the wire to turn the light off. The last one I bought was nearly $100 and not all models of the same car have this feature as I've seen the same model with out the light or the senser.

This vehical has a hard to do well intake gasket failure repair and it's easy to overtighten ther plastic intake and break it. 15 IN-LBS is a very small amount and I 've seen quite a few that were overtightened and broke. I have to install a new manifold and the it happens so much that the parts stores keep them in stock or can get them in one day your dealer will have it in stock too for the same reason. The injectors lose seal with the manifold too as the rPM will change up and down as the conputer tries to find the idel but the leak changes too much and the computer may never find the correct idel mixture and fail. You might be able to remove the senser from the oil pan and clean it and put it back in. If theirs enough oil in the engine oil will come out till it's a quart and just a little more low. You did'nt mention A RPM problem in the post I saw and if your reposting I can't see what you wrote last time so you need to state the entire problem including the make year and model engine size and country built for as the world asked the questions but I'm in the USA witrh a english filter so all the questions are translated to english even if written in another .

  • John P Schwantes Jr Mar 14, 2011

Low oil level light shouldn't effect the RPM Unless it's right and the oil is low and the engine is starving for lube.

I have a GMC Sierra 2008 and the light of the engine come on and The Oil Pressure is to low, can you tell me what is going on Thanks

Sounds like you are triggering the check engine light due to low oil pressure. I would check your oil level and see if you are ok with oil. If you are then go to the nearest parts store and have them run a diagnostics (free) and tell you what the code is reading. That way you know what is going on. I have a feeling though that your oil pump is going bad and you are going to need a new oil pump

How to reset oil light on dash of 01 1.4 golf

Oil lights do not reset.

Your Golf either has low oil level/pressure or the oil pressure sending unit/wiring is bad.

You need to immediately check your engine oil level. The instructions are in your manual.

If the oil level is low, DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR! YOU WILL DAMAGE THE ENGINE! Add oil as instructed in your manual and the light should go out within 20 seconds or so after you start your car. You will then need to check for leaks and/or find out why your oil was gone.

If the oil level is normal, you need to get the car to a mechanic to see if the problem is the sending unit or an actual oil pressure problem. Since at this point you cannot be certain, I recommend that you have the car towed to avoid engine damage that will happen if your oil pressure is indeed low.
