Depending on the type of car aux is reverse from off and foreward one turn on others . If its the first- its possible the tumblers are stuck or internal parts failure in the cylinder - it will have to be drilled out and replaced ! If the second - theres a possibility That the shift lock mechanism is not working or gettin signal from the brake switch ! This keeps you from putting or pulling the car out of park or back into park from drive ! The shifter could be worn and the shift lock solonoide is not disengaged this also would keep the cylinder from turning back to off ! Beware that if you do happen to get the cylinder to turn to off and this is your problem then you will not be able to turn the key - bope this helps ! It all depends on the model and year of the car !

Key stuck in ignition car stuck in park key won't go to off position

There may be to much pressure on the steering wheel lock for it to go into the off position. put the parking brake on. put the shifter in neutral gently turn the steering wheel in the opposite direction of where the wheels are pointed and try turning the key to the off position. Good Luck

I have a 95 camaro, I put the key in ignition and it will not turn the ignition. It's like it's stuck. Replaced the ignition module and still cannot turn ignition. Help!

the ignition module (ignition switch on top of the steering column) normally doesn't get stuck.

things you can try:
steering wheel lock: (the pin gets a "burr" on it and locks everything up) wiggle steering wheel back and forth while trying to turn key.

transmission lock (parking on an incline will jam up the interlock)
push the shifter farther into park while trying to turn the key, or wiggle shifter

Ignition stuck in lock position

Have you tried taking the pressure off the steering lock by turning the wheel a little? It should move slightly in one direction or the other.

Keys stuck in ignition. its in park. ( and 3 days out of warrenty)

In the ring around the ignition switch (where your key is stuck) there is a recessed dimple. Get a ballpoint pen, insert into the dimple, hold it there while turning your key to the lock position (if it's not already there) and remove the key.

Grand prix steering wheel locked key comes out

This situation is called "Torque Lock". The Solution is simply to Turn the Steering Wheel Slightly in the Opposite Direction to remove Pressure on the Steering Lock Pawl. Usually this occurs when turning off the Key while Pressure is Applied to the Steering Wheel from a slight "Roll-Back" or from the Power Steering being forced all the way to it's limit in one direction or the other. Always be sure that the Steering is allowed to relax prior to switching the Ignition Switch to the Locked Position. This is a very common problem most frequently experienced by women rather than men. Let me know if this helps!

I think it's just that button directly over the ignition. Just push it down while turning the key the rest of the way towards you.
