Well first u cant bypass the solinoid at all.
and if u have to tap it yes its buggured its cheaper and easier to get a new starter motor to bolts in and out to replace the solinoid what a headae and nearly the same price

I have a 93 ford f150. I'm switching the starter from one with a selenoid to no selenoid. Having major problems. Can you help

Use a Ford remote starter solenoid, here is a Standard brand part number and where to order it cheap.

Below is a simple wiring diagram of a remote starter solenoid, since you say the new starter will not have a solenoid hook directly to the starter B+ battery post. Mount the remote solenoid as close as possible to the starter, use bulk battery cable or see if they sell it in made up sizes of different lengths. Use the right color cable which is red (B+)

Will not turn over has power and fuel

Theres several things that can cause that. If you know for sure there is sufficient charge to turn over the engine, you hear the solenoid click once and solidly engage but theres no rotation try tapping on your starter with your tire iron. this is a simple test to determine if the starter has a single bad brush. sometimes a brush will go out and this leaves a dead spot that occassionaly the starter will stop in. tapping the starter will help it get a connection. You need 2 people for this, one person taps the body of the starter while the other turns the key. A second test is to take a jumper cable and bypass everything. attach one end to the positive terminal on the battery and touch the contact screw on the starter with the other end if it fires up you may have bad wiring rather than a bad starter. If it makes a repetetive ticking noise without engaging the solenoid completely it is either a very bad connection or a dead battery.

HI I HAVE A 2000 FORD EXCURSION AND THE PROBLEM IS I CAN GET IN AND CRANK THE TRUCK AND DRIVE IT SOMEWHERE AND PARK IT AND THEN COME BACK TO IT AND TRY TO CRANK IT AND IT WILL NOT SAY ANYTHING ALL THE...

Possibly but it sounds more like a bad starter. The next time you have someone with you and it won't turn over, tap the bottom of the starter with a hammer while the other person tries to start the engine. Just be careful of the connections to the starter. If it starts, replace the starter. Check that the battery cables are clean and secure before tapping the starter.*** Please rate me on this answer.***

regardless if its a factory or aftermarket alarm, the single click sound is an indication that the starter solenoid is failing

with the solenoid mounted on the starter, about the only thing the shop could have did wrong is not clean off the surfaces where the start mounts and that is assuming you have oil leaks under the vehicle and/or they even removed the starter.

honestly, it just sounds like bad luck with a failing starter solenoid

93 ford escort starter problem

never mind "A"join the club there keep taking the pills
take a screw driver and short out the battery wire to the small terminal on the starter this should spin the starter over and the engine at the same time if nothing happens the solenoid cap on the starter is faulty, you should here it click in to spin the motor up
if it clicks but still no go then its the starter motor its self likley to be brushes

Check voltage at trigger wire going to the solenoid. There should not be any voltage there except when the key is in start positon...if there is the ignition switch may be bad.
