1992 Cherokee 4.0 automatic. Stalled at stop light. Would not restart. Towed home. Have power to and across all master fuses. Replaced ASD relay and swapped others sequentially. Have fuel pressure at rail. No spark at plugs, cap, coil. All dash, headlight, radio, fan etc. work just fine.

Changed CSP (crank) still no spark.

Before I take a hammer to this beast ... can anyone help? It's a pretty Jeep ... otherwise it would be parted out already. 138K is mileage and has tilt wheel.

I have the same problem. My jeep will not spark. I changed the plugs, coil. rotor, wires, and even the battery. But nothing, someone told me it could be the computer. I dont know and I dont want to spend a couple hundred on a new computer.

Some one please help me, I love my jeep and I put alot of time and money into to make it an offraod beast.

2004 maxima just stoped firing

Turns over fine but does not start? Could be fuel or spark related, check for spark with screwdriver in spark plug wire close to metal on engine, don't touch while turning engine over looking for spark between screwdriver and metal 1/4 inch gap between them. If you know it's no spark probably ignition module or coil. If no fuel, filter, pressure regulator or fuel pump, you should hear pump whirring when you turn on key before it starts.

74 malibu. Starts but wont stay running. New starter, New Fuses, New distributor. Spark plugs are firing and fuel is getting to engine.

It seems like you have overlooked something.
If you have spark and fuel, it should keep running.
Sometimes the key switch is faulty and you loose spark when you turn the key back to the run position.
You should be able to run a jumper wire to the coil and crank the engine over to see if you are loosing power to the coil.

Getting gas and fire but just turnes over like there is no fire at all

which engine, they work different.
you saw gas where.?
you saw fuel where??
you saw something turn, what?
try this.
it cranks robustly (250RPM = robust)?
the engines cranks over, (i see pulley spin fast on crank)?
the engine fails to start and to RUN (sustained).?
you lost spark to 4 or 6 clingers, all are dead spark?
so you place the diagnostic jumper wire and crank for
and release the key,
got DTC error codes, bingo.
if not bad spark is bad coil or bad ignitor that drives said coil.

next is fueling but above is all first.
fuel is always LAST. (ECU cuts fuel for many reasons) ask.

1990chevy suburban 2500 350 died while driving and won't restart I can hear the fuel pump turn on I have changed the fuel filter and still nothing what's next

check for spark, no spark, no fire engine wont run, possible bad ignition coil, wire from coil to distributor cap, no power to ignition coil from ignition switch (rare) wire broken to ignition coil (even rarer)

I have a 1988 chevy truck and it will not start now, i shorted out the starter and it burned the negative cable wire so i unhooked it and replaced the starter solenoid and replaced the egnition module,...

Is the engine turning over and just not starting? Go back to basics, you need fuel, fire, compression, and proper timing to get it to start. Check the fuel pump, do you hear it run when you turn the key on? Do you have fuel pressure, if so check for spark at the spark plugs, if you have spark try turning the engine over and have a buddy spray some starting fluid in the throttle body, if it tries to start then you have a fuel problem. If no fire check dist module, ign coil and coil wire.

RH - Right Hand side of engine, when viewed from rear.
LH - Left Hand side of engine, when viewed from rear.

It has steadily been getting harder to fire over---Today it won't fire --in past year ,I have changed fuel pump, filter, coil, crank & camshaft sensor,plugs,wires-It has fuel in the line (it squirts out...

try setting the distributor even tho they are controlled by a computer and spark is advanced or retared by the computer if they get 10 degrees or more out of time they cant correct it and start hard or a no start issue. Turn the engine to top dead center on 1. I figured out that the notch on dampener lines up with notch on the block. mark the direction the rotor is facing and when you put the cap on, adjusted the distributor so that the #1 terminal is dead on with the rotor (follow the raised area on the cap from the #1 plug wire and this will let you see where the #1 terminal lines up). one other thing it could also be is the module on the distributor but if you have spark it shouldnt be that

91 eagle talon 2.0 going doun the road quit running, checked coil for spark nothing but i also checked fuel pump an nothing ecsept when u crank the engine shouldnt it pressurise before trying to start?

No spark and no fuel pressure? That sounds like a bad ECU. I would check the ignition coil, and the signal coming from the ECU to the ignition coil. Then I would check the voltage going to the fuel pump. Next, check the timing belt and make sure the correct timing is set.

When you turn your key to the ON position, you should hear your fuel pump pressurize for a few seconds.
