Hi I have an EJ22 non turbo 16 valve engine to fit

Hi I have an EJ22 non turbo 16 valve engine to fit to my Hovercraft. I am lashing up a suitable wiring harness to fire up the engine but the Ignition Relay is missing. It is the 6 pin variety which I believe is a type B47. I am unable to find such a thing as an IGNITION RELAY. I cannot find it listed anywhere. Can anyone help me to locate one please?

Thank you for your help, but the "socket" that I have on the harness accepts 6 male flat spade pins like the black one at the bottom of the page. The items shown have shrouded pins. This is the trouble that I seem to encounter all of the time! Cannot find a Subaru item listed anywhere, yet it is on the circuit diagrams.

    Hi

I have just had a look at that 5 pin one, but the pin arrangement is different. I can dispense with one pin as it is a common earth and parrelells up furtehr down the harness. Why it does this I do not know! Can I Email you an image of the socket at all. Not too familiar with this site as I only joined about 10 minutes before we first spoke!

    Hi Hans

Yes I think that would be a better solution at least they will fit the socket that I have and the circuit of the terminals appears OK. Will get one on order as soon as I can.

    Thank you for your help.

Would one of these relays do?
Hi I have an EJ22 non turbo 16 valve engine to fit - images?q=tbn:and9gcsg9qa4djy7-fallxtf7gal_edxw4t_fvv3a16tjvdmkyp37wtj The above relays are from Audi's, or there is the conventional 8 pole 12v relay which has two poles and four contacts and is available at most bigger electrical outlets.

Need to know valve adjustment for 2012 ram 3500 turbo deisel and do you have to adjust the exaust valve n if so what is the spe. Tk. Joey

The 24-valve overhead system is a "low-maintenance"
design. Routine adjustments are no longer
necessary, however, measurement should still take
place when trouble-shooting performance problems,
or upon completion of a repair that includes removal
and installation of the valve train components or
injectors.
(1) Disconnect battery negative cables.
(2) Remove cylinder head cover (Refer to 9 -
ENGINE/CYLINDER HEAD/CYLINDER HEAD
COVER(S) - REMOVAL).
(3) Using the crankshaft barring tool #7471-B,
rotate crankshaft to align damper TDC mark to
12:00 o'clock position.
(a) If both number one cylinder rocker levers are
loose, continue to next step.
(b) If both number one clylinder rocker levers
are not loose, rotate crankshaft 360 degrees.
(4) With the engine in this position, valve lash can
be measured at the following rocker arms: INTAKE
1-2-4 / EXHAUST 1-3-5. Measure the valve lash by
inserting a feeler gauge between the rocker arm
socket and crosshead (Fig. 32). Refer to VALVE
LASH LIMIT CHART for the correct specifications. If
the measurement falls within the limits, adjustment/
resetting is not necessary. If measurement
finds the lash outside of the limits, adjustment/resetting
is required.
VALVE LASH LIMIT CHART
0.152 mm ( 0.006 in.)
MIN.
0.381 mm (0.015 in.)
MIN.
0.381 mm (0.015 in.)
MAX.
0.762 mm (0.030 in.)
MAX.
note:
If measured valve lash falls within these
specifications, no adjustment/reset is necessary.
Engine operation within these ranges has no adverse
affect on performance, emissions, fuel economy or
level of engine noise.
(5) If adjustment/resetting is required, loosen the
lock nut on rocker arms and turn the adjusting screw
until the desired lash is obtained:
² INTAKE 0.254 mm (0.010 in.)
² EXHAUST 0.508 mm (0.020 in.) Tighten the
lock nut to 24 Nm (18 ft. lbs.) and re-check the valve
lash.
(6) Using the crankshaft barring tool, rotate the
crankshaft one revolution (360°) to align the
damper TDC mark to the 12 o'clock position.
(7) With the engine in this position, valve lash can
be measured at the remaining rocker arms: INTAKE
3-5-6 / EXHAUST 2-4-6. Use the same method as
above for determining whether adjustment is necessary,
and adjust those that are found to be outside of
the limits.
(8) Install the cylinder head cover (Refer to 9 -
ENGINE/CYLINDER HEAD/CYLINDER HEAD
COVER(S) - INSTALLATION).
(9) Connect the battery negative cables.

How to set valves on Toyota 1991 23re engine

actually all engine that have lash can be set with no books
only the 2 numbers. for intake or exh. in usa its on the hood sticker.
the engine has a firing order, use that to set lash on all cars made.
all engines. (ASE 101 class day 1 , engine 1)
there are other ways (in the FSM) but we dont need that. at all.
lets say its a 4 banger, firing at 1,3,4,2 as most non boxers do.
so set #1 to firing TDC. set lash now.
then rotate crank 180deg. CW.
that is #3 firing, set lash at #3
180 more set 4
180 more set 2.
see why that works on all engines. ,
the trick works because its really 4 engines there.
you can set the in any order of you know how to find tdc firing.
nothing else needs to be known.

that hood sticker, open hood and look up,see EPA sticker there./
bingo. lash.

How to adjust valve lash on a 1990 Geo Storm

its an Isuzu engine.
there are 3 engines.
4XE1, SOHC 1.6L (base)12valves
4XE1, DOHC , 1.6L same as above but now with 16valves.
4XE1, DOHC, 1.8L bends valves if belt snaps...
note the bad idea of ISUZU calling all 3 engine same name.
a horrid idea.
which one? the second was in USA and Canada only.
the second one was offered as the GSI. is yours that?

so I will attempt to guess for you, its the base engine.
(odds of coin toss)
toss #2, USA, SOHC
guess 3: did a new belt and want to do lash next. Cam belt>
No job stated so i guess 3 times.
Just lash.
SOHC 1.6L only (FSM book quote)
Check the valve lash between the rocker arm and valve stem on both the intake and exhaust valves on the number 1 cylinder, the intake valve(s) on the number 2 cylinder and the exhaust valve on the number 3 cylinder. If the valve lash on the intake valves is not 0.006 in. (0.15mm), adjust the valve lash. If the valve lash on the exhaust valve is not 0.010 in. (0.25mm), adjust the valve lash.

1.6L twin cam has shims.
1.8L has HLA , no lash to set.

HLA= Hydraulic Lash adjusters.

I posted this before, search for it. Im only doing 1 engine.

Timing belt felll off on highway, will there be a lot of damage 2000 volvos-80

Volvo recommends for Volvo S80, changing the timing belt every 105,000 miles. Needless to say, they are pretty religious about this now.
The B20, B21, B23, and B230 engines are non-interference engines, meaning that the camshaft can be rotated independently of the crankshaft and no damage will result to the engine. That is, if the timing belt breaks, the valves will not hit the pistons; the engine will simply stop.
On the other hand, the B234 16-valve engines and any of the other Volvo multi valve engines are interference engines. Loss of the timing belt in these engines will result in severe or fatal engine damage.
Your car might be fitted with:
2.8L (VIN 90, 6th & 7th digit, B6284T eng, turbo)
2.9L (VIN 94, 6th & 7th digit, B6294S eng)

Hi how can i convert my 1976 4.2 damlier jagaur coupe from leaded fuel to unleaded fuel

The main difference is the non-lead version has hardened valves and seats in the cylinder head and a catalytic converter in the exhaust. You may be able to obtain a later head that fits this engine. The converter is an easy splice-in by cutting out a section of the exhaust header pipe and fitting suitable connectors. If you need to pass emission regulations, then it gets more complicated.
