After your mechanic replace the Cam Angle Sensor, did he reset the fault code to 00. If yes and the light went off and stayed off for a while then came back on later it may be the O2 sensor.

The information below was complied by me, it explains what causes the check engine light to come on and the process of finding the cause.

When the Check Engine light (or Service Engine Soon) is turned on, the systems computer control unit (called the PCM) has sensed a fault in the electronic controls of the engine and/or the emission system. When this happens you will seldom feel the car engine run any different. There are about 200 possible system faults (the gas cap is just one of them) that turn the Check Engine light on, to know what has developed a problem you must have the system tested, this is called an OBD2 fault code test, Kragen/Oriley and Autozone parts stores (USA only) do this testing for free.

Lambda sensors, they measure your fuel air ratio being burnt by the engine and addapt the management system accordingly. You will have to put them both back or the check engine light will stay on.

You will have to reset the timing. there should be marks on the sprokets and the crank gear, just line up all the marks at the same time, then replace the belt and turn it over by hand a couple of times to be sure they have stayed in adjustment. Don't crank it over with it out of time because you can do major internal engine damage

Engine management light comes on whilst driving

Go to a parts store and run a free diagnostic test. It will tell you the codes that have popped up and then you can fix it from there. That light means the computer is sensing a problem.

1999 Volvo V70 Wagon Won't Start

It could be the Oxygen sensor.  As for how many there are or where they are located...I don't know but go to autozone.com and look at their free online repair manuals.  As for it not starting...could be a loose battery cable or bad starter or the connections on the starter.  Could also have a short in the wiring to the Oxygen sensor.
