The pcm is in the passenger front fender well. you have to take loose the plastic fender well liner at the front and bottom of the fender well and it is inside and right beside the vapor canister above the horn. it has two long cable plugs on the bottom and each has a retainer bolt in the middle that holds them in snug. the pcm has two retaining screws that hold it in position in the fender housing. it slides straight down when released (after you take loose the horn from its bracket and remove the bolt that holds the horn bracket in place)

Hi, usually its behind the glove box under the dash, it should have two plugs going to it with approximately 30 wires in each plug, if it is not there then look for it on the drivers side up under the dash. Thanks, good luck, Bob

GM vehicles are equipped with an anti theft system. There are several parts that must communicate properly for their system to work. When they don't communicate, it will either shut off the starter or injectors. You may have had this problem and mis diagnosed it as ignition or starter. Also after changing the ignition this may have interrupted the system also. Look for a light on the dash that says "security". if you see this light, then this is the problem. I've had great luck in just bypassing this system entirely. Read about it on this page.plus some "do it yourself" fixes. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/

My speedometer quit working. What would make that happen?

Sometimes if your needle is just stuck you can use a magnet to bring it (very slowly) back to zero. It could be your cluster has gone bad. The speedometer on your car does not have a cable. They are obsolete theses days. There is a speed sensor on your transmission and the PCM converts it then your cluster reads it. Your speed sensor or your PCM (Power Control Module) could be malfunctioning as well.

TRY CLEANING the post on your distributor (inside and out), and try replacing the plug wire. Sounds like your just not getting juice to that spark plug. Worst case, new distributor cap.

Cooling fan

Yes, it's probably the PCM. I had the same problem, and upon replacing the PCM it started working again. If your cooling sending unit is new, and so many parts of your fan assembly are new, it's probably not receiving the signal from the sending unit. Hope this helps.
