There are many possible causes. Make sure you have the right firing order. Look for vacuum leaks--maybe intake gasket. Read at the link below, starying around the middle of the document. Do It Yourself Diagnosis and Repair
i would check egr valve and check to see if working this will cause misfire codes that you have had /swap sparkplug with another cylinder and see if problem now at another cylinder could be bad spark plug as cause
the code you have is because you have a misfire on cylinder number 5 since you have already changed all the plugs and wires only two other possible causes either injector number five or a bad valve on that cylinder while idling put a piece of paper at the tail pipe if paper gets sucked back against pipe its a bad valve if not i would go after the injector..good luck hope this helps you.
You have a timing problem. Check for loose/broken belts. also see if the distributer cap is worn out or cracked. Replace it if it looks worn out. Change spark plugs.... Sounds like a typical ignition problem. If your handy, you can do this all yourself. Change plugs wires and distruber cap.
This misfire could be an intake valve or exhaust valve stuck open. Remove spark plug, and use a fiber optic camera to look in the chambers to look at the valves. It could be a bent valve or badly worn edge of a valve or simply a build up of carbon debris. I own a 95 Jimmy with a V6 Vortec and it has the same problem with a miss. mine is a bad valve, I hope yours is something small, but I hope it helps anyhow. D
Checked and cleaner EGR?. Misses all the time or just at idle, going down road? Have you tried pulling one plug wire off cap or plug at a time to see if you can isolate which cylinder it is, then work from there? Don't forget, Insulated pliers or similar to pull those wires.
you could have a bad ignition coil or a bad spark plug or a wire could also be bad.
ther could be a problem in the distributer cap or the distributer itself.
timming could be off.
