Question about 2005 Toyota Corolla

1 Answer

When my corolla is cold it starts fine. I can drive for about a 1/2 mile and then it quits and will not start. I let it sit for awhile and it will start again but not run for very long. So it seems to be an issue with heat.

Is there any kind of check engine light on, or emissions light on? Sometimes when the ignition coils heat up they will short out and stop working, and after they cool down they will work again only till they heat up, then they will stop. If this doesn't help i would need more information to better diagnose whats wrong. Thanks, good luck, Bob

Why does my car try to die when i drive down the road?

Try to check the ignition coil, when you driving it become hot then the car dies end won't start. After awhile when it's cold, then it will start. Replace the ignition coil.
I hope it solves the problem

Have a pressure bleed down test run on the fuel pump, that is the most common problem that causes this condition.

Car starts fine after sitting awhile. If you drive awhile then stop and try to restart it won't.

Check the electronics, cam sensor or crank sensor these are the culprits.

My 1991 Toyota Corolla drives fine and then suddenly it starts to hesitate.

mine did the same thing and it was oxygen sensor
since engine light came on there should be an error code
on computer.Get a diagnostic checker or take to a garage and have them hook uo to the diag connector. I bought a diagnostic checker few years ago and it has come in very handy
sure hope this helps!!
