Question about Chevrolet Silverado

1 Answer

I have a 1984 Chevy Silverado V6 2 wheel Drive. I replaced the fuel filter, since then it continues to leak gas at the fitting to the carb. Have bought 2 rebuilt carburaters and the same thing, it leaks.

The fuel line flare no longer can seal. You might be able to use a tubing cutter to remove 3in of steel fueline with the fitting at a wrecking yard. Use the tubing cutter to cut your old line and use a rubber fuel line hose with mini clamps to re-connect everything.

Where s the fuel filter on and 84 oldsmobile cutlass

It depends on which Cutlass you have. If you have the full size gas engine Cutlass, the fuel filter is in the carburator. Remove the main gas line going in the front of the carb. Then unscrew the large fitting from the carb. the filter goes inside that fitting. There is a right way and a wrong way to put it back in, so pay attention to how it comes out. This type of filter should be changed every 2 or 3 months because it's so small.

If you have the diesel powered Cutlass, the filter is a square box type thing on the back of the engine above the intake manifold. simply remove the lines and replace the filter. Rehook the lines, start the car and check for leaks. This type of filter should be changed twice a year, spring and fall because they change the additives in diesel fuel depending on air temperatures.

If you have a Cutlass Ciera you will have different procedures again, unles it has a carburator. Hope this helps.

79 chevy beauville fuel lines where is the fuel filter located

79 is carbureted...There is a 5/8" nut fitting on the end of the fuel line at the carb inlet. Use a 1" wrench to hold the nut on the carb fitting and a flair nut wrench to remove the smaller line nut. Then remove the 1" one. The fuel filter is right behind the 1" one. Be careful to keep it straight when replacing it. The carb metal is soft and strips out easily. Don't loose any seal rings there either.

I am trying to locate the fuel filter for my 1984 chevy s10 it has the 2.8

is it carb? If so the line attached to the carb has to come off The fitting Where the line screws into comes out from the carb. It has a small paper filter inside. If it's throttle body the filter is attached to the frame on the drivers side about half way to the rear.

I need to replace the fuel pump on a 1984 chevy celebrity 2.8/V6 but I do not know where it is located. Also does this car have a fuel filter? I have searched and cannot find one.

84 celibrity has a carborater and the filter is in the carb. where the fuel line connects to it. Follow this metal line down past the timing cover and the other end screws into the fuel pump thats connected to the side of the engine block near the oil pann gasket on the belt drive end of the engine it has some brackets surounding it for the power steering pump and it's hard to get to and lots of other stuff needs to be removed to get to it. When their bad they leak oil too and sometimes they leak gas into the oil.195379185.jpg

I have fuel dripping in the front near carbuerator

Most often the leak is at the fuel line connection at the carb. Replace this gasket and check the fuel filter at the same time. Do not use thread sealant! Do not drive it with this leak!! Frankster016

1984 chevy luv 4-wheel drive desil, is there a rear fuel pump somewhere, our lines go directly to the injector thru additional filters for bio desil. ran out of gas but have been having trouble with trash...

if this is a 1984 vehicle then i would assume it has a lift pump on the side of the engine driven by the camshaft and this should have a primer lever on it ? Sorry never seen one of these motors as iam on the wrong side of the pond .Also this fuel tank is metal so a certain amount of rust will be inside and also muck from the bio fuel degrading so it may pay to drop the tank and swill it out with petrol .also if need be fit a rubber pump for priming .Sorry i cannot be more specific as never seen one .biofuel ? yuck if not used for 6 mths this stuff clags everything .
