May be immobilizer circuit, or, on a 14-year-old car, it could be the starter.
When you get no response, have someone tap the starter with a stick. If that makes it work, it is shot.
I have heard that if you have a manual transmission, you can snake out the starter without removing the intake manifold. Not clear to me how that would help. On an automatic, you have to remove the intake manifold. PITA, but then you will know that you have a nice fresh intake manifold gasket.

My 2007 Ford fusion won't start. First the rpm dropped while driving it the other day and now it will turn over but won't start

How long since a tune-up? Any applicable trouble codes? To check codes, at the least, you need an obd2 code reader.
Make sure battery has a full charge. Crank the starter motor intermittently so it doesn't overheat. Have a helper crank it while you check for spark at the spark plugs. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure. Once you build fuel pressure, turn off the key and see if pressure holds for a bit. Also, check fuel injector pulse.
Let us know about your test results.

Camaro trouble

Place the shifter in neutral and try to start. If the problem goes away you have a park/neutral safty switch at fault. If the problem remains, I would consider replacing the ignition switch located on the lower steering column, not the key tumbler but the ignition switch. If you have a test light and know how to use one we can go through the test procedure.
Try the shifter test first and let me know.

I have a 96 Olds Cutlass Supreme that intermittently won't start

If the lights on the dash all come on but the engine wont turn over it could be a problem with the VAT security system. Your key has a little chip on it between the teeth and the handle. This is a common problem with GMs', often just replacing the key is necessary but sometimes the VAT module needs to be replaced.

2008 honda odessey ignition switch trouble

Hi

I have same problem - intermittently in my 2005 Honda Odyssey (Australian Version)! Same story with dealer response since of course it will not do it when I take it in (twice). Honda dealer says he cannot repair problem unless he sees it is broken! Very frustrating!!!!

I have had some success by putting the key in and out of lock several times and then moving it about when I try to start the car - normally this fixes it. I only hope this does not break permanently when I am far from home!

Keen to hear if others have this problem and have found a permanent solution.

Stalling problem with a 1993 subaru impreza

if the error code is saying bad cylinder id check it first, if it tells you which one take get a compression tester onto it, on all cylinders actually and check that they are all around the same mark. but even with a bad cylinder you should get some response, check the cable is still tight in the engine bay if not tighten it.

Headlights and Blinkers Go Out Intermittently

You will need to most likely replace the lock cylinder and the ignition switch, sounds like a worn out parts issue. This should cure your problems with the lights and any other strange electrical problems.
