Where did you buy the plugs? Go back there and have them print you a fireing order for your car.

Where are my spark plugs?

  • Hi, I can help.
  • The reason you don't see the plugs is because there are coils on the plugs.
  1. Remove that plastic engine cover.
  2. You should be able to see what looks like spark plug wires running from the coil. But they are coil wire.
  3. Get a 10mm socket and remove the bolts that hold the wiring down.
  4. Now you will see that each coil is held in place with a bolt.
  5. Remove that bolt and pull the coil out.
  6. Now you can see the spark plug.
  7. Change as any other plug.

How many coil packs does my 1999 kia sportage glx se have

There are two ignition coils, each coil fires 2 cylinders, one cylinder is directly fired, the other has a plug wire from the same coil. This is like a 4 cylinder motorcycle ignition. See picture below.

Changed timing belt on 2001 kia sportage but still runs rough

I would check the connectors on the coil packs, spark plugs and wires and replace them if they at all seem worn or tired. My 2000 sportage ran rough so I replaced the fuel filter, coil packs, spark plugs and wires, cleaned out the IAC valve, TPS, throttle body and intake tube, tightened the screws on the fuel pump access door under the right rear seat and cleaned the ground wire and the contact surface and I added 1 ground wire from the block to the firewall and 1 from the valve cover to the firewall. Your timing is more than likely right where it needs to be but the ignition may be slightly missing from a bad coil pack, dirty or fouled plugs or a bad plug wire.

2000 Sportage: where is the spark plugs located on a 2000 Kia Sp...

They are under the black plastic cover that is in the middle of your valve cover gasket. Remove the intake hose from the aluminum intake plenum on top of the valve cover and the silencer box against the firewall. Remove all the connectors from the sensors which should be 2 on the plenum and the 2 large vacuum hoses on the plenum. Then remove the 3 12mm bolts from the plenum at the throttle body and remove the plenum. You can reuse the throttle body gasket at the plenum so don't destroy it. All the other bolts are 10mm and use a screwdriver to loosen the clamps on the hose. The sensors have clips that you need to remove with a small screwdriver, then disconnect them. Remove the bolts on the cover and the cover. Then remove the bolts holding the coil packs down. Do one plug at a time. 2 of them are connected to the 2 plug wires and 2 are underneath the 2 coil packs. The connectors on the coil packs are fragile so remove them carefully. Reverse the steps to reinstall the plenum, etc.

How to change spark plugs on a 4cyl 2005 kia sportage

Inspection
Inspect the spark plug tip for wear and damage. If the tip is covered with carbon, replace the plug. Do not drop or shock the spark plug. If the ceramic body is broken replace the plug.

Where did they hide everything in a 96 kia sportage spark plugs distributor cap

you might not have a distributor on that car it could be coil on plug or you could have coil packs, the spark plugs are right on the top of the cylinder head i.e. top of engine, there should only be four and fairly easy to find.
