No spark 2002 Jeep 4.7

02 jeep, no model stated but seems to be grand Cherokee.
answering for USA cars only not exports, etc.\
GC is WJ jeeps, real name. WJ.02

I can see you didnt scan it first.
crank for 5 seconds and see if the scan tool tells you why it cut spark 99% of time it will
ours has 8 cop coils, 8 coils over plugs.
if all 8 are dead.
then.
1: CKP or CMP sensors dead.
2: the PCM on this car , can cut spark if P0016
code for cam out of time.
they do that so you dont bend the head valves. over.
since you skipped the most important step, SCAN IT.
i cant work to the end, or solve this.

if you have spark for 3 seconds, and it dies after
that is the ASD dropping out, and is PCM command to do that, and the scans tell you why, there are 1 to 8
reasons why, (codes DTC) stored,
make sure the PCM IOD, fuse is not missing or bad
this is the PCM memory fuse, keep it working.
or data can not store.

I have a 2000 Ford Expedition 5.4 V8 Triton and I'm replacing the spark plugs and the #3 coil pack... Can someone please tell me what brand coil to buy?

I have had really good. Luck with the NAPA brand. Otherwise the ford dealer is fairly competitive as well. Make sure you are using motorcraft or auto light spark plugs. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Thank you for using FixYa.com!

I need a spark plug wiring diagram for a 4.6l Triton V8. 2001

Your shouldn't have any spark plug wires on your vehicle. There should be a coil on top of each spark plug. The firing order is 1 3 7 2 6 5 4 8 if that helps. I went back a year incase you had a late model 2000 but that 4.6 also has a coil on plug. If you do have spark plug wires, I don't think that's the original engine then.

2001 Ford F150 91,000 miles v8 5.4 triton at around 50 mph the truck will start jerking, is it the engine, transmission ?

You most likely have a bad spark plug coil and or plug. First recomendation go to your local parts store and have them put a code reader on it. It should tell you what cylinder is missfiring under load. Once you identify replace the coil. Cost $45-$60. Also replace the plug. After this you should be back in business. This is common with the 5.4L engine. Depending on the cylinder involved the coil can be difficult to get to so take your time. Definently and easy do it yourself repair.

I am about to take on the task of changing my expeditions spark plugs. where are they located and there is anything that you think is important to know before I get started

They are in the engine head. Just follow the plug wires and they will lead you right to them. A slightly warmer engine will make it little easier to remove the old ones. Make sure there is no debris of any kind on or near plugs when removing or that junk can get into your cylinder. Turn counter clockwise to remove and clockwise to install. Make sure the socket is straight up and down and not crooked or it will crack the plug.

Ignition Distributor location

There is no cap and rotor, as the vehicles igntion system is DIS (digital ignition system). The recommended tune-up on these motors require sparkplug and coil replacement. The coil type in this vehicle is COPs (coil over plugs). Usually moist and oxidation develope on the sparkplug chamber walls from faulty or worn coil boots. This causes the coil to short, they must be replaced at 75,000 miles at the same time the sparkplugs are replaced. Typical symtoms are: Vehicle stalls (restarts and runs normal), intermitted jerks/sputter while driving, misfires, rough idle, severe power loss. Hopefully this helps
