Question about 1994 Nissan Maxima

I have a 1990 Nissan Maxima I change spark plugs,fuel filter,plug wires,and distributor cap with rotor and still having a bad miss.what next to do?

Could also be a bad valve you may need to do a compression test, or could be a bad fuel injector.

Distributor cap firing sequence


Set the crankshaft so number one piston is about to fire and the distributor rotor arm will be pointing to the number one distributor cap segment - connect the number one spark plug lead to this.

Note the direction of distributor rotation and each lead in the firing order should be connected to each segment in that direction...

wet plug is excessive fuel and that the misfire is from bad injector and not plugs

could just need a tune up,you could also pull of the distributor cap and look for oil intrusion, if there is you will need to replace the distributor

1997 mercury villager i have spark and fuel,changed wires,cap,rotor,and plugs.the car ran good yesterday,moved it and went to go somewhere last nite and turns over but dosent start.


could be distributor. remove cap and rotor and slotted wheel. look for brown dust covering optical sensor from bad bearing. If yes, replace distributor. It triggers spark and fuel injection.

Remove the distributor cap,look inside to see if the reluctor is emersed in oil,if so,replace the distributor,the seal in the distributor is bad.

You may have a loose spark plug wire or your main spark plug rotor spinner might be bad its where all the plugs join together. Left side of maxima.
