07 pontiac Grand Prix won't start even with a jump. An says charging system fail on message center.

It takes a lot of time to charge a really dead battery. When you try and start the car with a dead battery installed there is a large voltage drop across your jumper cables so you must achieve a reasonable amount of charge on the battery before you can turn over the engine even with the jumper helping. If you are losing charge on your battery in a short period of time you may have a failed voltage regulator, a bad battery, a bad alternator (should be putting out 14 volts DC or so) or bad connections. You could replace the battery (with a charged one) as a test to determine that the car will start. If it starts OK than read the voltage on the battery terminals while the car is running to check the alternator and regulator.

My 93 pontiac grand prix keeps dyin mostly when it has a bunch electrical stuff on and then it doesn't wanna start

hi ,
your alternator is not producing enough current to supply all the power needed . I would start by testing the output of your alternator but getting a charged battery , hook it up to your car and turn the car on , turn the lights on only and see when you accelerate in neutral gear that the light become brighter . If this is the case your alternator is in good order .you then may have a short circuit somewhere or faulty earth which does need to be rectified by making sure all cables to the chassis are well tighten . If the light do not become brighter , your alternator is dead and need replacing .

S Belt on Pontiac Grand Prix

If your belt was not properly routed it could be the issue. About 30 miles driving would be enough time to drain the battery, and your problem may very well be related to a improperly routed belt.

2002 Pontiac Grand prix wont start; unable to remove key

On many cars, if the battery is dead, it locks the key in the ignition. Put a battery charger on the car or replace the battery and give it a shot.

Good luck.

I have had this problem a few times on my 2003 Grand Cherokee. After the guages go crazy then the thing will not start. First two times I replaced the battery and it fixed the problem for a short time. The real problem was corrosion on the battery cable(positive/red cable) I took some Coke and a wire brush and cleaned the cable, ends and battery terminal. This fixed the issue.

Car won't start.

It sounds like you have a bad alternator. Put a voltmeter on the alternator output to ground and see if you have at least 13.2 volts. If you dont, replace alternator.
