Lubricate and adjust the release cable, latch and at the button. Adust the hood itself if it looks bent or out of line. Sometimes a body shop person can get the metal to fit more snugly.

Bonnet catch not releasing cable seems to have disengaged from catch end and cannot raise bonnet volkwagon t5 transporter dec 05 model

Hi,
This is what needs to be done. Get a good torch and see what you can see through the grill - ( if yours is the model with a grill and not the folded over bonnet type ) . If it’s the grill type -you can usually see through there the run of the cable -- Remember which side the cable runs from inside the car from the handle - and then what you need to do is use long tools - usually long screwdriver or similar - and aim to shift the lock over to the side of the car that the cable would normally pull - Have someone with you if you can to get a hold of the edge of the bonnet to ease it very slightly up and down while you are working.
Let us know if you were looking for something more else please accept the suggestion.

My bonnet on my BMW e36 wont close fully so it is flush to the wings like it is suppose to, is there anyway i can adjust the bonnet to make it be fully closed and flush to the rest of the car many thanks...

My bonet on my 1 series wont close properly it doesnt appear to be catching in the release lock although the mechanisim is working when I press down on it manually. The bonnet is only staying shut because the opener catch/hook is working, but this is the only thing holding it closed.

Renault clio bonnet wont open

Get a second person to pull bonnet catch and you push up and down on the bonnet whilst catch is being pulled. 1, cable possibly stretched, 2, look at bonnet catch under the coloum to see if wire is attached, 3, try and lie under car and look up the back of the bulkhead to see the catch and release it manually. Hope that helps.
