Have an emission station check out your fuel system. There is an evaporative loss canister, hoses and vents in the tank that may be plugged or disconnected. It might be possible (but unkikely) that the car is already full and the sending unit is bad. Some vehicles are finicky about the types of fuel nozzles they accept due to emissions regulations. I hope this will help you.

Fuel tank vent on a 04 silverado, where is it?

If the vent solenoid where stuck than the pump would constantly shut off on you. It would literally take you 30 minutes to fill you tank.

When everything is working correctly the pump will shut off and that is all the gas you should add to your tank. Adding a little more gas is fine but anytime you overfill the tank you run the risk of ruining the charcoal canister.

On your particular vehicle it is not that expensive. Try in on a honda and your looking at a minimum of $1200 dollars!

If the gauge is reading ful than it is full. There is no need to add more.

I have a 2004 kia optima with 52000 miles on it. After every fill up at the gas station no matter if I put 5 dollars or 20 to fill the tank up the car won't start unless I put my foot to the gas pedal and...

Two things come to mind. You broke the pressure seal to the fuel system when you took off the gas cap. The fresh gas rushing in disturbs any dirt or debris on the bottom of the tank.
Next time you use the car when you arrive at our destination, simulate what you do when you fuel up. This will mimic everythig except the new fuel rushing in. If it is still hard to start you know it's something to do with the evaporative fuel system. If not, you need the fuel tank inspected .

Car won't take fuel worked fine when I bought it but takes 15 min to put 5 dollars gas in it now looks like everything is alright but something is wrong

Your evaporative containment sysem is malfunctioning. The tank is not "burping off" the excess air on top of the gas surface in the tank. Your dealer will point you to just the part you need.

I HAVE A 2004 GMC Serria that when I try to put gas in the gas nozzle keeps shutting off ?

Welcome to the GM world. Try filling the tank first by not putting the nozzle in to far and start slow first then you can gradually squeeze the trigger more. It's like an art and when you can find the right spot the nozzle needs to be to fill, your good to go. I have a Jimmy and Montana, they both get filled differently except that i need to start slow first then i can squeeze the trigger all that way after 5 seconds. Good luck and enjoy your new truck.
