Question about GMC Sierra 1500

1 Answer

When i bought the truck the dealer had mentioned that they had bled the brakes as part of their inspection. i thought this was funny bought never pursued it. about a 1000 miles later the brakes are starting to apply themselves like there is extra pressure in the system. consequently all 4 rotors get smokin hot and the truck acts like your bucking a head wind. any advice would be greatly appreciated.

They could put a wrong braking fluid in. For example, if your car needs DOT-4 (which has higher boiling point) and you put in DOT-3 this issue may happen. Or putting DOT-3 or DOT-4 in the brake system which requires DOT-5 can destroy all rubber parts. You need to replace the braking fluid asap and bleed the system again.

If the car has Drum style rear brakes, make sure the adjustment is good. It takes a lot of fluid to activate them.
PS. I assume you did bleed the rears.

suggest you "look" for fluid loss issue. fluid has to go somewhere right? either a bad rear wheel cylinder.which inside of rear tires will be wet with brake fluid..either passenger side or drivers side. or a bad brake caliper on the front.which will tell on itself by leaking fluid onto the ground when brakes are applied..brake fluid leaking will tell on itself by inspecting the inside of each tire,on the inside of the tires, front to rear. thank you for choosing fixya.com.

2005 chevy aveo brake light comes on when i shift... why?

your brake fluid is low. I have a 2005 aveo that i took to dealer under warranty and told them the clutch didn't feel right and the brake light kept coming on. they told me they have not seen either issue i complained about charged me 700 dollars in labor and rental fees and sent me on my way. I then proceeded to take it to the used car dealership i bought it from and they bled the clutch and said they got alot of air out when chevy told me they didnt get any. Anyway about 3 weeks later the light was on steady and the clutch began acting funny again. I bled the clutch myself this time and didnt check the fluid level or i would have caught the next dangerous part. On the 2005 chevy aveo hatch back i have with a 1.6 5 speed shares one reservoir for brake and clutch fluid. I was driving along one day down a 12% grade about 2 mile long stretch and my brakes failed. I filled the brake fluid reservoir at first chance i got considering my arm was sore from operating the hand brake for 6 miles or so. the light went out. It will probably come back on as did mine. the leak in my system was a check valve under the brake master cylinder. be careful until you get to fixing it.

What is required in the service of a 3.0l subaru liberty at 100000kms?

your owners manual will tell you exactly. usually all filters should be changed (oil, air, auto transmission if equipped, fuel, cabin air etc) as well as spark plugs and wires, distributor cap and rotor if equipped, check the belts and hoses as well as the charging system. All fluid levels should be checked and topped off. Check your tire p.s.i. as well.

No brakes 94 Nissan pickup

Hi

You sound like you are having fun !...............Not !

Brake Clamp, off all the brake hoses, and see if pedal returns ?

What have you done to the rear brakes, is the adjustment correct ?

I suspect your problem may be in the master cylinder area.?

Possibly the little rod behind the master cylinder ?

When you bled it, did the brake fluid pump out merrily ?

Let me know your thoughts !
