Disassembly procedure to replace front wheel bearing: ----

1) Remove drive axle from front wheel hub. 2) Remove inner snap ring. 3) Remove wheel hub with Support Bridge, hub adapter, hex, and forcing screw. 4) Remove brake shield. Remove outer snap ring.

5) Remove wheel bearing with support bridge, bearing adapter, hex nut, and forcing screw. Clean bore of knuckle. ---------Now for Assembly: ------

1) Install outer snap ring and push wheel bearing into place with Support Bridge, bearing adapter, hex nut, and forcing screw. 2) Install brake shield. Install inner snap ring and push wheel hub into place with hub adapter, bearing adapter, hex nut, and forcing screw. 3) Install drive axle into front wheel hub.

--------------

To follow all this procedure a special tool is required:----

Tools Required are as follows:-----
500-20 Hex Nut , J-36661-2 Forcing Screw , J-37105-B-1 Support Bridge , J-37105-B-2 Bearing Adapter ,J-37105-B-3 Hub Adapter.----------

The bearings are pressed into the front hubs. They are bearings, so extreme care must be used when installing them. Your special tools are pressing tools to remove and install the bearing into the hub (pressing it in).If you do not have special too then it will be very much time consuming.

If you remove the hub you will need an alignment as your angles will be jeopardized. To remove the hub you will remove the axle shaft, Remove the brake caliper and rotor, Remove the outer tie rod end from the hub, Then remove the lower strut connection, Then remove the lower ball joint.A lot of work is saved with the special tools, But you should be able to take the hubs to a machine shop and have them swapped out for about $40-$50 each.----------

Yes this is true, but you do not need to disconnect the strut, lower joint, or mess with the alignment. It is faster, I Have done many both ways. You will still need pressing tools if you are using a hydraulic press. Remove the "C" clip from the underside of the bearing and press the bearing out of the hub. Then clean the hub real good and press the new bearing in. Be sure to only apply pressure to the outer housing of the new bearing otherwise it will be destroyed.

Severe bearing noise from front wheel bearing/cv joint area.Cv joint still lubricated,I tend to think axle support bearing is dry & on the way out,but only assuming. How does front wheel bearing come out of...

you have to replace bearing and hub as a unit.you have to remove remove brakes and caliper rotor set them aside dont disconnect brake line. get a piece of clothes rack wire to hold brake caliper .do not let it hang by brake hose. you got to remove hub nut. best way to do that is loosen it a litttle while tire still on weight of car keep wheel from turning .

How do I know if my front wheel bearings are going out in my car

Jack up the car (SAFELY) so one wheel is just clear of the ground.

Grip the wheel with both hands and see if there is any movement when you "pull / push" the wheel.

If there IS movement ..... you need new bearings.

Good luck.

Is this rumbling wheel bearings or transmission?

If the sound is all the time, no matter what you are doing then it is the Transmission going bad. CV Joints, Wheel bearing will only make the noise when in rotation.. Also remember that this is a front wheel drive car, so it will throw you off thinking it is the wheel bearings or CV joints due to the front wheel drive
