Some aftermarket stereos have a wire for automatic dimming and could cause this problem if not properly installed. Take the stereo out. Or put your old one back in and see if that is the problem. Also other fuses could cause this problem to.Sometimes they are linked to another fuse.Check all fuses.

Who installed the stereo? A professional? Or you or a friend? Either way sounds like some wires touched something they shouldn't have! Take it back to where stereo was done and tell them to fix it.

Car wont start or anything after i installed an atfermarket stereo in my 2002 dodge neon and a fuse went bad but idk what fues or if its something else please help?

You must be sure when you select the live wire it is the correct one. Some "Live" checked wires changes polarity as soon as the car is started causing some fuses to blow. I think this is what happened to you and the main fuse is blown. Disconnect the radio and check all the fuses on the vehicle. Replace the one that are bad and the vehicle should be running again. Let a auto electrician selct the "correct" live wire for you.

Dash lights out, need fuse diagram on my 99 chevy malibu can anyone tell me which one it is

library has free access to automotive database. 10 cents a page to print. a 12v test light is used by technicians to verify fuses. you can eliminate or verify quickly that a fuse blew. but also remember power feed to that fusebox comes first from the power distribution center under the hood. it also has fuses and relays. if all the bulbs went out now, then you should pull the cluster. when i worked on these when they were new, some cluster repair was done by sending the cluster out to be fixed. hope its just your bulbs.

I changed stereo and now the dashlights do not work

Check your park light fuse. You may have blown the fuse for the dashlights/park lights by accidentally grounding the night illumination wire, located in the radio wiring. That wire runs from the dash lights to the radio, to illuminate the radio at night. Alternately, if the park light fuse keeps blowing when you replace it, you might've hooked that night light wire up to the wrong wire on your radio.

1996 saturn dashlights out

You may want to check the wiring under/inside the dash. The AC may have blown the scent of burning wires or other components from the dash. THere may be copper wires that have been exposed or have shorted one another. Then check on the fuse once all wires have been checked out.

Electrical problems in subaru - can't get my brand new stereo installed and working

the airbag should be fine aslong as the light is not on. the airbag wires are wrapt in yellow plastic. check all fuses with test light cos the wires for those accesory arn't near the radio at all. there are two power wires for the radio CONSTANT and ACCESORY if you have the two around the wrong way it could cause this problem.
