It should be a heavy gear oil.Ask your local auto parts store what weight and brand to use.Some use an 80-90 weight .But without the owners manual I wouldn't know exactly what they specify.If im not mistaken Its either 75W-90 or 80W-90 but check with your local auto parts store.

All aluminum case always takes Automatic Transmission fluid...If it isn't aluminum It should take 85/140 or Something compatible...Call a parts store and they will tell you exactly what is required ...Or equivalent ...Also look in owners manual if you have it ....Save time and call parts store..

WHERE IS THE TRANSFER CASE LOCATED IN A 1993 JEEP GR. CHEROKEE LAREDO (6CYL) AND DOES THE FLUID LEVEL NEED TO BE CHECKED PERIODICALLY? THX....MIMI V.


The transfer case is bolted directly to the back of the transmission. Follow the drive shafts, they connect to the transfer case. It is never a bad idea to check fluid levels, however, unless you have a leak, you should not have to add fluid to the transfer case with any kind of regularity.

Transfer case fluid and differential fluid what kind


Transfer case fluid is a GM AutoTrak II fluid, use only this in the transfer case. For front and rear differential use a good quality gear lube 75W-95.

transfer case takes regular dexron3 auto trans fluid. nothing special. cheap fluid compared to other fluids for your truck.

If it's a manual case ( pull stick ) then it's dexron III automatic trans fluid , if it's automatic ( push button ) then use GM part # 12378396

Transfer case fluid for 99 suburban


If it has auto 4x4. which will have 4 push buttons on the dash it will take auto trac fluid that you will need to get at your local GM dealer. A regular transfer case will take Automatic transmission fluid.
