Question about 2004 Mitsubishi Galant
If you open your trunk and look on the inside next to the light being replaced, you should see three black protectors which probably appear to hold up the trunk carpeting interior. Remove these protectors and pull back the carpeting (held on by velcro attachments). You should now see three bolts with retaining nuts. Remove the nuts with a deep 10mm socket and pull the light from the body from the outside of the car. After the light is out, you will see three light sockets. The brake light should be the most inner light. Twist the socket towards the left and the light should easily come out. Remove the bulb and replace it with the exact same bulb. The bulb has two filaments, one for the park lights and the other for the brake lights.Install in reverse.
