Question about 2006 Chrysler Town & Country

1 Answer

My 2006 Chrysler Town and Country Limited has an air conditioning issue that even the dealership cant figure out...With the AC on and circulating and the van running it will begin blowing cold then all of a sudden start blowing hot for about 2 to 3 seconds then back to cold. It happens erratically, some times while accelerating, coasting braking and can happen 5 times in the matter of minutes or not for 5 to 10 minutes. It is ridiculously hot air too and very frustrating

Your clue that it is ridiculously hot indicates that the problem is in the climate control module
it indicates that it is cycling the thermostat or you have a faulty thermostat that is cycling the climate control module
take it to an accredited ac specialist shop for a proper diagnosis

SOURCE: changing fuel filter on 2004 chrysler town and country

  1. Remove or disconnect the following:
    • Negative battery cable
  2. Raise the vehicle and support the fuel tank with a transmission jack.
    • Fuel line from the front of the tank
    • Ground strap
    • Inboard side of the fuel tank straps and front T strap fastener and lower the tank about 6 inches
    • Fuel lines from the fuel pump module
    • Fuel filter
  3. Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten the fuel filter bolts to 40 inch lbs. (4.5 Nm), the main tank straps to 40 ft. lbs. (54 Nm) and the T strap to 250 inch lbs. (28 Nm).
  4. Start the engine and check for leaks.

SOURCE: Where is the Body Control Module located?

It is located on the back side of the underdash fuse box (junction block). You remove the lower steering column cover and knee blocker reinforcement. Then remove two plugs from the bottom of the bcm.
Remove the bolts holding the junction block to dash panel mounting bracket. Remove the junction block from the bracket. Remove screws holding the bcm to the jb. Slide the bcm downward to disengage guide studs on jb from channels on bcm mounting bracket
Remove bcm from jb.

It is not a do it yourself fix.

This is an automatic transmission issue which may involve replacing the valve body and solenoid pack and affects transmissions fitted to various Chrylser models. It could also be a symptom of more serious transmission problems and requires proper investigation and diagnosis.

On some models there was a Technical Service Bulletin issued to dealers on this problem .

Parking lights stay on

Great news I just got a letter from Chrysler corp, saying that there is a warranty extension or recall on some 2005 & 2006 Chrysler Town & Country for a headlight / parking light issue , it states that if a problem arises with the headlights or parking lights it is most likely a faulty switch and that Chrysler will replace it for free , My suggestion is is to call or stop in at your nearest Chrysler dealership's service dept. and check to see ( and verify) if your vehicle's problem would be covered under this particular warranty.

Trying to figure out what the dashboard code (!) means on a chrysler town and country 2006 limited

I think I have the right light. It's the only one with a ! in it. It means one or more of your tires is low on air. Below is a picture of the one I'm talking about along with a decription of it. This should be in your owners manual if you have one. If you do not and would like a copy, you can email me at csautomotivecars@att.net with your make, model and year. I will be happy to email you a copy and no there won't be a charge for it. I hope this helps you.

I have a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country. It blows air, but not cold air when AC is engaged. We put a test light on the AC clutch, no power. We swapped fuses and fuse relays, still not results. Not sure...

Low or no refrigerant will keep the compressor from getting power to prevent damage to the compressor. I would make sure the system has freon in it first.

Town & Country 2007 LX model aircondition not working

It does have air conditioning installed. It may also have rear a/c. The rear a/c evaporator is probably leaking freon. I have replaced many rear evaporators on 2006 and 2007 Chrysler minivans as a result of a design change in 2006. Recharge the a/c and add dye to the system. If it has rear air, look behind the right rear wheel in the fender area under the car where the a/c lines go into the body.
