I have a 93 Park Avenue Ultra. When I reach speeds of 55 plus, it jerks while accelerating.

Consider the ignition module (have it tested). I had the same problem, only at varying speeds rather than over one particular speed. It would kick and **** violently, making me think it was the transmission, when in reality, it ended up being the ignition module begining to fail. Replaced and problem was fixed.

Car speed slows down and speeds up runs a little rough when speeding back up it does a jerk.

Dear Debbie,
Fuel filter costs about $ 20 plus installation, catalytic converter about $100 up to $ 600 plus installation..
Go for the fuel filter first.
If it is not that, do a diagnostic check before you do the catalytic converter.
The "cat" seldom is the problem.
God bless your efforts.

I have a 2000 Buick Park Avenue Ultra. Making a purring sound on the front driverside that gets louder when I accelerate & contines till I brake

Check your drivers side front CV joints and make sure the dust covers aren't ripped or broken. You;ll also want to check to make sure part of your splash guard isn't rubbing against your tire.

it sounds like the clutches may be out on the tranny..as far as the knocking it could be a rod trying to go out on the car id start looking for another car

I have a 1991 buick park ave ultra

your car is suffering from a faulty speed sensor. it works by using a signal generator in the transmission that creates an electrical signal in relationship to vehicle speed. This information is processed by the vehicle’s computer for engine and transmission management and provides the signal for the body computer that controls the speedometer. If the speed sensor itself fails then this might be the reason behind your problems. in addition, another cause of this may be that harness my be loose connecting to the transmission or behind the speedometer. there are multiple pins connecting behind the speedometer, and sometimes when one of those pins are not properly connected it gives a problem like yours.
