Question about 2003 Infiniti FX35

1 Answer

2003 FX35 Non Tech, windows will only work from driver master switch, but only hitting the lock/unlock three to four times and only for a few seconds, after which you have to do the same thing to use the windows. Sometimes the sunroof will vent when you perform these steps and the roof switch doesn't work now either. I recently replaced the master switch, but the problem still persists. I was wondering if it could the BCM and how do I go about testing it or other possible causes. Thanks in advance.

Hi

You're probably going to have to seek the help of a professional. The only possibility is to bang on the door panel in the middle towards the bottom of the door while someone else holds the switch in the up position. This might jar the motor loose and allow you to roll up the window. This will only work if the reason your motor is stuck. There can be other reasons the window won't go up though...bad switch, broken window regulator, wiring, etc.

Replace the master switch. Or you could take it apart and sand the contacts for the lock. Many and small pieces.

2003 fx35 door lock problems

The problem is the Door lock actuators and when I went to the dealer they want $467.90 to fix just my driver's side door, but after almost having a heart-attack from the dealer's estimate, I checked on ebay and found a Kit to fix the door lock for only $59 so i ordered one kit (shipping was super fast) it came with very easy instructions on how to install the kit, so I installed about 4-months ago in under 1HR and now everything is Back to normal, I can unlock/Lock using my original OEM key fob and also using the power switch on the door, so everything work as from factory ( no need for aftermarket alarm or remote) ... !!!! here is a link of the kit that I purchased. Where is the power window relay located on the '03 Buick Century? And could this be the problem for all windows to stop working at the same time EXCEPT the driver's window? Or possibly the lock switch not...

The lock switch is designed to keep the passenger buttons from being used. It should not stop the master switch from operating the windows - or at least, that's what the 2003 Buick Century Owner's Manual says.

After studying the schematics for your vehicle, Iwould say that the owner's manual is correct. The lockout switch only cuts power to the passenger switches. The driver's (master) switch can still power the passenger windows. If none of the passenger windows work from either the driver's door switch or the passenger switches, then the master switch probably has an internal open circuit causing this. There is no separate relay or fuse. I would replace the master switch. Be sure and check ALL switches with the lock on and the lock off to verify this before replacing anything.

Driver side window won't raise up!

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. To resolve the issue you are facing with push the unlock button once on the factory remote=unlock all 4 doors. Hit unlock a second time=all four windows down. When exiting vehicle hit the lock button on remote=all 4 windows all the way up. Also, all four window controls on the driver’s door panel are one touch up and down on master window switch. Remove the door panel by prying it off. But be careful not to damage the panel. Now unscrew the top of the panel and the area by the arm rest. Once you get the panel off, then you will see how the switch is mounted into the door panel from inside. If the switch has gone bad this is required to be replaced. Remove the old switch and connect the new one.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Rear side windows

This may be just a case of inadvertently hitting the window lock out n th driver door window switch by mistake. Check that first. Here's some background on window operation

Principles of Operation
The driver power window regulator motor is controlled directly by the master window/door lock/unlock switch (and its integrated "auto down" module). Power is supplied to the power window relay and the master window/door lock/unlock switch, and the passenger power window switch when the SEC/timer module grounds the coil side of the power window relay. The SEC/timer module will ground this relay when the ignition is in the ON position and will remain energized for approximately 15 minutes or until the driver or passenger door is opened.
The driver power window regulator motor is a reversible motor that is operated by applying power and ground to the motor leads to lower the window, and then reversing polarity on those leads to raise the window.
The passenger power window regulator motor is controlled directly by the passenger power window switch and can also be controlled by the master window/door lock/unlock switch.
The passenger power window regulator motor is a reversible motor, which is operated by applying power and ground to the motor leads to lower the window, and then reversing polarity on those leads to raise the window.
The power rear quarter glass is also directly controlled by the master window/door lock/unlock switch. The power rear quarter glass power latches also utilize reversible motors. The power rear quarter glass power latches are operated by applying power and ground to the motor leads to open the window, and then reversing polarity on those same leads to close the window.

2003 Forester, only driver's side window works

the first thing i would check is the master window switch, on the drivers door, the window lock circuit locks out the operation of the other three windows. the intermittent operation of the windows suggests a possible loose connection or contact.
