Gas gauge always reads full.

Hello John.
The Montana/Venture vans have a problem with the fuel gauge sending units in the early 2000's.
The only cure is to drop the fuel tank, remove the sending unit and replace it.
The fuel gauge sending unit is available separately from the fuel pump.
Thank you for using FixYa.

92 k1500 5.7L tbi fuel gauge always reads full and temp gauge always stuck down.... any suggestions

Two possible problems.... the temp gauge wire is a single green wire attatched to the driver's side head (no1 bank) near the front in the side (in front of plug #1) ground it and your gauge should go to full hot,,, same with the fuel gauge, if you unplug it at the tank it should go to empty, or visa versa... if the gauges respond, replace the sending units, if they don't, replave the instrument panel

Gas guage always reads full

It could be a faulty sending unit, which will require the removal of the fuel tank. Make sure all of your fuses are good before you do anything else, as all the gauges are electrical. It is possible you have a bad gauge, but 9 times out of 10, it's the sending unit.
