Generally just disconnecting the struts (or shocks) will give you enough clearance to get it installed. I recommend that you replace both though or it is likely it won't sit straight.

Take a look at the rear coil springs, mounted on the rear struts. These have a bad tendancy to brake. Also note any fuid leaking from the strut itself. Struts can be purchased for this vehicle that already have new springs installed on them, eliminating the need for a spring compressor, as this is also a dangerous operation for an ameteur. Another thing to check is the rear stabilizer bar links. When these break, the make alot of banging noise. Good luck!
Depress and turn the retainers for the
hold-down springs and pins to remove them from each shoe. Slide the brake shoe assembly--including the
shoes and springs--down so you can disengage the top ends of the shoes
from the cylinder and tilt them to lift them past the retaining plate.
Unhook the lower retracting spring from the
front brake shoe to disconnect it. Spread the shoes apart at the bottom
to remove the adjusting screw, the screw's retracting spring and the
adjuster lever. Remove the front brake shoe.
Pull the parking brake cable spring back with diagonal cutting pliers,
grip the cable with the pliers without cutting it, unhook the cable from
the parking brake lever and remove the rear brake shoe with the lever.
Disconnect the parking brake lever from the rear shoe by spreading the
retaining clip with a screwdriver and removing the clip and its spring
washer.
Step 4
Pull the parking brake cable spring back with diagonal
cutting pliers, grip the cable with the pliers without cutting it,
unhook the cable from the parking brake lever and remove the rear brake
shoe with the lever.
Step 5
Disconnect the parking brake lever from the rear shoe by
spreading the retaining clip with a screwdriver and removing the clip
and its spring washer.
Step 3

On the dual overhead cam 3.0 liter you must remove the upper intake plenum to access the right bank spark plugs and wires.
On the single cam 3.0 liter I have seen guys remove the wiper cowel to gain access, but I just reach around the drivers side behind the throttle body.
